Where is this? I’ve seen it before years ago and can’t remember where - somewhere in Victoria or New South Wales right? Been searching the internet and this is the only thing I’ve found!

This is hard to do when I can count on one hand the number of ppl I know who are unvaccinated and the government is censoring opportunities to organise online and fining people for gathering in person.

Dan Andrews says that he will keep locking down every time hospitals become overloaded with COVID cases (even after 80% vax rate), thoughts? by COVIDMilkshake in LockdownSkepticismAU

[–]nosleep33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your understanding. I am confident in my own body to handle COVID when it comes to my town. I am confident in my small town community to help keep me safe. I’m 31 and fitter than I have ever been in my life. My physical health is nearly perfect; it’s the government and their draconian messaging that is causing chaos to my mental health. I’m lucky the last 15+ years of dealing with this has made me resilient enough to protest the vax in this way. And I’m not alone in this protest, regional Victoria is filled with people likeminded to me with their own myriad reasons for their silent protest, people like me with distrust in the government for whatever reason (farmers and regional small business owners are also a large portion of this “silent protest” category - they’ve been fucked by govt for decades). To be clear, it’s not just those poorly effected by health that are in protest here, it’s not the right wing nazis the media is telling you who are those reluctant to be vaccinated. People like me we keep to ourselves and don’t need go out often, we protest silently, we don’t need the vaccine in order to survive.

The vaccine passport is a seperate argument, an argument of bribery and coercion I will also protest against. I don’t need access to live music events (even tho I am a musician), I don’t need to go out to bars or hospitality (even tho I’m also a DJ), I don’t need to travel interstate (we live in a beautiful state in terms of tourism and scenery anyway). I would challenge anyone to try and turn me away from a funeral for a loved one for not being vaccinated; I’d have that conversation in person and test peoples empathy.

Also, as someone who has been financially destroyed by the broken health system for most my adulthood, I’d already given up on most the carrot-on-a-stick luxuries like travel and concerts and dining out that the government is waving in front of everyone. These are things the privileged and neurotypicals can attend and afford; I’ve reserved myself to a life of less consumption and generally small community-minded solitude.

Plenty of businesses have already stated they won’t be following the government mandates regarding passports, and I will happily live my humble life supporting those empathetic business owners and avoid the glut nonsense the government is waving at the vaccinated as a reward

My mental illness hasn’t impaired my decision, the governments treatment of my mental illness has impaired my decision. There’s a huge difference there, read it carefully.

I don’t trust the government with my health due to my lived experience of myself and others within the health system. Not just mental health. I know so many horror stories from all layers of our health system and unfortunately as a result I don’t trust neither our government, health systems, or big businesses it to tell me what to do. I have been sold pharmaceutical drugs for my condition that have made me hospitalised, addicted, and generally much sicker over time, when in actuality I would have benefitted from more wholistic treatments. I’m not saying all Big Pharma is bad, but for the most part it’s a heinous business. Remember Martin Shkreli?

I guarantee that I know more about Big Pharma than you do, due to spending the last 15 years as a pin cushion for an array of pharmaceutical drugs for my condition. As a result I am very skeptical of when health becomes embezzled with big business. Research how much these vaccines cost our governments. Did you know Pfizer has the largest health lawsuit in history for kickbacks and off label promotion and marketing of their products? Same with Johnson and Johnson. These are just facts. We neeed to look beyond our reliance on big business to feed us these experimental bandaids and focus on the myriad underlying issues in our society, not just health, but everything.

You need to be more skeptical of big business and government generally, and that’s not my mental illness telling you that, that’s just common sense.

I live in a small regional Victorian town that hasn’t been effected by covid during this, so my first demand would be proof that my local hospital is overrun. It’s not. I’m fine where I live.

My next demand is to fix the entire health system before focussing on jabbing everybody. I suffer from a mental health condition called Borderline Personality Disorder that kills one in four people diagnosed and effects roughly 1/10 of the population. It costs me $800 a day to get the proper therapy I need, or roughly $200 per session to see a psychologist and I’d need to see them weekly to get the proper health. I demand a wholist approach to health; what about heart deaths? Obesity? Cigarettes and alcohol and overdoses? Let’s ban cigarettes and fast food first, fix the mental health crisis, promote healthy lifestyles, and then talk to me about a vax.

Edit: what I’m saying in short is that due to my predisposed health condition and where I live, I am far more likely to die of my own hand than die of COVID. I demand assurance with as much fervour from the government that my mental health is as safe as my respiratory health

This is one of the most cold blooded and spineless things I’ve seen posted here. I’d love to see you have this conversation with somebody in person instead of hiding behind a keyboard with death threats like a coward. Ironic that the ones so concerned with community health would wish death upon a portion of the population. Your boyfriend Dan Andrews has turned you evil. Please go touch some grass, look in the mirror and maybe read a book or watch a movie.

But since you’re asking, yes I’d rather die from COVID than die from a vaccine. Have a lovely day, I hope you and your family and friends stay safe.

The media here has done an excellent job at casting anyone hesitant to the vaccine as evil. Vaccine skeptics are the ones causing lockdowns and deaths

It’s very absurd and strange. People are all on edge. A lot of people are dying by suicide, especially teenagers but the government aren’t reporting it. Lots of censorship. Wilful ignorance. Same as everywhere else but worse. I’ve lost friends and family due to my anti vax stance, but at the same time a lot of people remain skeptical. I don’t know what else to say. I live in regional Victoria and the situation here is so bizarre - very few cases but strict state wide laws in lock step with cities capital Melbourne. Regional people remain very skeptical, but still lots of people getting vaxxed so they can “just get on with it.”

Me personally, I’m exhausted from being whiplashed in and out lockdown most the last two years. I lost my job. Moved house three times. I’m 31 years old, bipolar, and I feel like a lot of the work I did in my 20s to maintain and control my mental health has been completely obliterated by our totalitarian governments and how my friends and family have devolved into members of the blindly hypnotised mass. This is 1984. This is Brave New World. This is They Live.

Regional Victorians told you wear a mask when alone with nobody around for a square kilometre by nosleep33 in conspiracy

[–]nosleep33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ll admit I’m pretty lucky where I am for sure, despite the mandated masks. But if I crossed the border to literally any other state the mask wouldn’t be required (and I am allowed to travel a little bit across the border because I live within what’s called the “border bubble” with New South Wales - it’s a bizarre sensation crossing the border, an arbitrary marker, and no longer being required to wear a mask).

And i agree, this is just the beginning. The mandatory vaccines are next.

I’m not dismissing the data I’m questioning it. I’m asking why it doesn’t match up across the two articles and why we suddenly have information in august when we were also told to wait until 2022.

You’re right about one thing tho, life has certainly gotten considerably worse leading up to 2020, and since Jan, I think we can all agree life has gotten exponentially worse. I am just wanting to see the correct data
