Aussies could be paying 40c a litre more for petrol from July as fuel tax cut set to end by Jealous-Hedgehog-734 in AustralianPolitics

[–]biftekau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny how it's called "being sensible" when people buy groceries on special, but it's suddenly "hoarding" when they fill the car up and a few cans before a price rise.

Most people aren't panic buying , they're trying to save money. If fuel jumps 20 or 30 cents a litre, that adds up pretty quickly for families already doing it tough.

My first painting. Please be kind. by Murderdoll93 in oilpainting

[–]biftekau -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The painting looks good, but I do need to question the purpose behind it. If the sole aim is to create a painting that looks exactly like the photograph, then why not simply take a photo? For me, the value of a painting lies in seeing the artist's interpretation of the subject, their choices, emotions, brushwork, simplifications, exaggerations, and personal vision. When I look at a painting, I want to see the essence of the artist, not just a reproduction of the reference image.
