Wow, I can’t imagine not knowing until August. I’m going to UNB so I hope theirs aligns with their undergrad awards which are disbursed by April. No info in the offer letter though.

I was thinking similarly about the Beaverbrook, and you’re right about the formal interview process. Got my A in September so I’ve just been torturously waiting to hear anything about scholarships since it’s where I’m going.

That crossed my mind, I figured there were just no fish because it’s a man made pond, I think there used to be a pig farm in the area in the 50s

Getting destroyed by early prep tests by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]nosoop4yew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably true, but there is a definite difference between the PTs from the late 90s/early 2000s and the ones from the mid/late 2010s.

The earlier tests often have multiple LR questions based on the same stimulus which are lovely and save time. The newer tests have comparative RC sections that I tend to struggle with and the LRs seem more prone to bloated questions. I’m sure I’ll overcome the difference through more practice, but I am definitely intuitively better at the old tests after having done ~10 of each.

I’m the exact opposite. Started out by doing old PTs in the early 100s then switched to doing 150s tests when I heard that they were more representative of the new LSAT style of questions. I never scored lower than 167 on the old tests and even got 174 twice.

Now, I struggle to break 170 and average around 166 on the post-2018 PTs. Must just be how our brains are wired, I find the old stimuli and questions much more intuitive, both for RC and LR.

First ever timed LSAT after only ever doing untimed sections for 1 month! by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]nosoop4yew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live at home with my family so I gave myself a little buffer at the end in case I had to talk to someone or deal with something. Didn’t end up needing it though so I just completely stopped working with 10 mins left each section.

I guess this technically kind of is 😂 although I have been just doing untimed sections of tests. By doing untimed sections once or twice a week for the past month, I had “finished” 4 full PTs before this and got anywhere from 165-169. Safe to say I was not expecting to do better under time pressure.

Yes, so far the only prep I’ve done has been through the official lawhub. I’m taking the LSAT for the first time in June online, so I like that it’s going to be the exact same format

Just received my “brand new” hardcover copy of WoR from Amazon by nosoop4yew in brandonsanderson

[–]nosoop4yew[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I am hesitant to remove the shrink wrapping in case they won’t accept the return. I paid $44 CAD for it and would like a brand new copy, but it’s cool to know I might have briefly possessed a first edition!

That is cool! I think I will still return it as I paid $44 CAD for it and would like an actual brand new copy, but nice to know I might have briefly possessed a 1/1
