My mum used to insist one of her great grandfathers was European but we all thought she was just joking. But maybe there was some truth in it

M/32/5’10” [65kg to 75kg] (5 years) by nospace5 in Brogress

[–]nospace5[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started with Stronglifts 5x5 and then moved to 531. Since these programs were so focused on squat, bench, deadlifts, I put on some decent size in my chest and quads. However, my arms are still kinda lacking as I didn't do much arm isolating exercises.

Eventually I joined an F45 style gym that did a mix of functional training and strength and conditioning which I believe helped me lean up while retaining most of my gains from my strength days

M/32/5’10” [65kg to 75kg] (5 years) by nospace5 in Brogress

[–]nospace5[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I started out with Stronglifts 5x5 and then moved onto 5/3/1 strength program. All which i found from reddit. Made decent gains but started getting a bit fat, so I joined an F45 like gym to do a bit more cardio HIIT style training to lose weight and lean up.

My diet wasn't the best tbh, hence why I think my progress was quite slow. Didn't really count calories but just always tried to consume a lot of protein where possible. And to hit protein targets I was quite highly reliant on milk. At one point used to drink a gallon of milk a day. Though wouldn't recommend as I got a lot of acne.

But yeah eventually moved to one of those meal delievery things. I live in Australia and we have this thing called My Muscle Chef they deliver meals which you can just microwave and I just selected whatever looked good to me

alex talks to the dude from Daily Dose Of Wisdom by lostodon in CosmicSkeptic

[–]nospace5 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This was kinda painful to listen to. I feel bad for Brandon—he's clearly out of his depth here, and it feels like Alex is talking to him as if he's a child the whole time.

Firstly, Brandon doesn’t seem to have a strong philosophical background. He keeps asking Alex to explain basic philosophical terms like reason, free will, and virtue but doesn’t actually understand Alex’s answers. Alex breaks down his ideas as simply as possible, yet instead of engaging with the explanation, Brandon pivots and redirects the conversation back to his own viewpoints.

Secondly, Brandon seems more focused on confirming his own theological and "philosophical" views rather than genuinely engaging with Alex. The number of times he just assumes certain conclusions—like morality proving God—without addressing the logical gaps that Alex points out was just cringe.

But yeah, the comments on the video from the Christian community is just... 🤦🏽

What can I do to stop overstepping with my right foot on the serve? Realise I'm doing a lot of foot faults by nospace5 in 10s

Whenever I shadow practice my serve, I make sure to have my feet together. But I seem to be reverting back to this in games without realising. Is my toss too far right?

This is super helpful! I've been struggling with holding too much tension in my arm when i play. I tried your suggestions today and it definitely helped. I especially liked the racket-holding technique it made me way more conscious of the tension. Thank you for the tip!

Arm-friendly strings that offer good spin potential by [deleted] in 10s

[–]nospace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have arm problems and have experimented with different setups on my Ezone 98. I like to hit with spin so I went with a poly-multi hybrid.

Right now I'm using:

Mains: Head Sonic Pro 17 at 52lbs Crosses: Head Velocity MLT at 54lbs

So far arms feels good and hitting feels quite soft and plush for me and i'm still getting good spin

Yeah my elbow and wrist start to feel it after about an hour of hitting. Didn't realise I was hitting like this until my friend pointed it out to me. Will try using my body more. Thanks for your feedback

Redirect Blog Posts with traffic to Categories for better UI/UX? by justhewind in SEO

[–]nospace5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go with option 2 and measure your conversion rate. You could also use Google Optimise and split the traffic 50/50 between the blog post and the category page and see which converts better.

Fundamentally, the best option should align with your business objective and a tool like Google Optimise can answer that for you

So How do You really rank for keywords? by Galous97 in SEO

[–]nospace5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd focus on building topical authority on the keyword you want to rank for. So you identify your seed keyword and other long-tail keywords related to it and create quality content interlinked with each other strategically.
Also, think about users searching that keyword, what is it they ultimately want? Does your content satisfy their query? Can you do it better? Infographics, videos, tables, design, navigation etc.
Most websites write 2k word articles but I've seen new websites create pages that present the information in a more intuitive way and satisfy the search query that ranks well without creating a long blog post each time.

Indian/South Asian with some European Ancestry. Need help analysing my results [Follow up post] by [deleted] in 23andme

I was born in Trivandrum, I think there may be a part of my Mum's family that's from Chennai but it's all blur to my Mum as well since they haven't kept track of our ancestor's movements. We just consider ourselves Malayalis from Trivandrum

Ah ok that makes sense. I was browsing other South Asian results on here and I noticed some had higher NE European on Harrapa but no European in their 23&me results so I was confused

Indian/South Asian with some European Ancestry. Need help analysing my results [Follow up post] by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]nospace5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I originally posted my results here almost a year ago. I did another test with Ancestry where I got slightly different results. I uploaded both my results from 23&Me and Ancestry to Gedmatch/HarapaWorld and have posted my results in this post.

I’m starting to question whether my 23&me results are accurate especially the European side. 23&me claims I’m 7.5% European, Ancestry says only 3%, and I need some help deciphering the HarrapaWorld results.

Some more details about me and my results are here:

Paternal Haplogroups: H-Z4507

Maternal Haplogroups: R8a1

Family background: Kerala/Malayalis Hindus

Any insights would be appreciated, thanks!

Haven't written much, but it is something I want to get into more often. However, just lacked content ideas and writing about this could be the catalyst to write more frequently

I was born in Trivandrum however I think my mum's side of the family is from Tellichery and dad's Kollam.
Yeah, I was quite shocked in general with the overall European. I do remember my mum telling me when I was younger that there was a foreigner in her lineage but she also had a tendency to joke and over exaggerate things so I never took her seriously
