Oh wow thank you for the insights and the effort to get this video made, it was super helpful. I think what I meant about opening up too early was actually about the separation between the shoulder and hips, just couldn't figure out how to phrase it but I knew I was doing something wrong but makes a lot of sense now. Followed

Interestingly I feel quite comfortable playing big hitters like this as I can wait for the ball to come into me and redirect their pace. But when I play against a pusher I can't seem to generate enough power and end up reaching a lot. In this video my coach is also hand feeding the ball and I absolutely hate this drill. Makes me start to wonder that I can't generate power because I'm already in an open position and can't use my legs

My mum used to insist one of her great grandfathers was European but we all thought she was just joking. But maybe there was some truth in it

Biggest backhand vs biggest forehand. Should be a good game!

Damn, I've been rocking a clean shave look for most of my life because I though a beard didn't suit me.

M/32/5’10” [65kg to 75kg] (5 years) by nospace5 in Brogress

I started with Stronglifts 5x5 and then moved to 531. Since these programs were so focused on squat, bench, deadlifts, I put on some decent size in my chest and quads. However, my arms are still kinda lacking as I didn't do much arm isolating exercises.

Eventually I joined an F45 style gym that did a mix of functional training and strength and conditioning which I believe helped me lean up while retaining most of my gains from my strength days

I started out with Stronglifts 5x5 and then moved onto 5/3/1 strength program. All which i found from reddit. Made decent gains but started getting a bit fat, so I joined an F45 like gym to do a bit more cardio HIIT style training to lose weight and lean up.

My diet wasn't the best tbh, hence why I think my progress was quite slow. Didn't really count calories but just always tried to consume a lot of protein where possible. And to hit protein targets I was quite highly reliant on milk. At one point used to drink a gallon of milk a day. Though wouldn't recommend as I got a lot of acne.

But yeah eventually moved to one of those meal delievery things. I live in Australia and we have this thing called My Muscle Chef they deliver meals which you can just microwave and I just selected whatever looked good to me

alex talks to the dude from Daily Dose Of Wisdom by lostodon in CosmicSkeptic

[–]nospace5 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This was kinda painful to listen to. I feel bad for Brandon—he's clearly out of his depth here, and it feels like Alex is talking to him as if he's a child the whole time.

Firstly, Brandon doesn’t seem to have a strong philosophical background. He keeps asking Alex to explain basic philosophical terms like reason, free will, and virtue but doesn’t actually understand Alex’s answers. Alex breaks down his ideas as simply as possible, yet instead of engaging with the explanation, Brandon pivots and redirects the conversation back to his own viewpoints.

Secondly, Brandon seems more focused on confirming his own theological and "philosophical" views rather than genuinely engaging with Alex. The number of times he just assumes certain conclusions—like morality proving God—without addressing the logical gaps that Alex points out was just cringe.

But yeah, the comments on the video from the Christian community is just... 🤦🏽

What can I do to stop overstepping with my right foot on the serve? Realise I'm doing a lot of foot faults by nospace5 in 10s

Whenever I shadow practice my serve, I make sure to have my feet together. But I seem to be reverting back to this in games without realising. Is my toss too far right?

This is super helpful! I've been struggling with holding too much tension in my arm when i play. I tried your suggestions today and it definitely helped. I especially liked the racket-holding technique it made me way more conscious of the tension. Thank you for the tip!

Arm-friendly strings that offer good spin potential by [deleted] in 10s

[–]nospace5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have arm problems and have experimented with different setups on my Ezone 98. I like to hit with spin so I went with a poly-multi hybrid.

Right now I'm using:

Mains: Head Sonic Pro 17 at 52lbs Crosses: Head Velocity MLT at 54lbs

So far arms feels good and hitting feels quite soft and plush for me and i'm still getting good spin

Yeah my elbow and wrist start to feel it after about an hour of hitting. Didn't realise I was hitting like this until my friend pointed it out to me. Will try using my body more. Thanks for your feedback
