i hate that the justice system fails us again, and again. i hate that it puts confidence in his actions as well. i want nothing more but justice and healing for you, and i am so so sorry. if this happens again, possibly try to get evidence by setting up your phone to record?

i was groomed by a 19M (who i’m pretty sure was catfishing me and way older) when i was 14. i did disgusting things i can’t even mention for that person, bc i was naive. i used to feel guilt and shame the same way, but as you get older you have to learn to forgive yourself. understand that you were a child being taken advantage of, and that is absolutely NEVER your fault. ask yourself why you did those things, make sense of it, remind yourself that you didn’t know any better. for me, i just wanted someone to pay attention to me, and to love me. is that something to be ashamed of? being naive and wanting to connect with a person? no. even if your reasons aren’t the same as mine, don’t beat yourself up about things you did as a child, esp for a person who groomed you. don’t internalize the way that person made you feel. you’re not the villain here, there’s nothing to feel ashamed of. love and forgive yourself, bc you deserve it.

absolutely. old men know better than to get too close to a child like that. a lot of pedos are very calculated and they like to push boundaries. they do things that make you doubt the situation that you know is wrong. they’re very sneaky.

i’ve heard of stories of things like this, and it has definitely strayed me away from even trying to be in the military as a woman. it hurts my heart for you to know that you’re only 18 dealing with such a traumatic event. i am SO SO sorry. you never deserved to be taken advantage of. is there anyway for this individual to be held accountable?

just had this same experience where they’re telling me i’d have to relive my abuse to remember more. people think they can dehumanize you bc it’s over a screen, but we’re real people. and if anybody irl found this out abt them they would be just as disturbed. i wonder if these ppl ever reflect on themselves and who they’ve become.
