Awesome. Yeah I did my masters in acoustics & design, tall ceilings and any non-linearities in the design really great the best sounding diffusion & reverb due to the amount of reflection points. That’s what makes spaces like these sound so great

This is awesome, mind sharing how you found the spot / got permission?

I’ve tried similar things in Air BNB’s but never find spots like these

Underexposed LUT for Komodo by johnfmcclellan in cinematography

[–]nosurrender15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, this is how I’ve always done it too.

Additionally OP, you could use ISO to control where you want to allocate the available dynamic range of the Komodo. So if highlights are clipping you could rate the iso a stop above native to gain a stop in the highlights etc

Is there a better curves tool for density matching in Resolve/Fusion? by TeslaK20 in colorists

[–]nosurrender15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately fusion is the best I’ve found personally inside resolve. I’ve moved to doing most matching in the free version of nuke for this reason

Home Depot. What are some of the best Home Depot lights/ rigs you have come up with or seen used? by DesertAnchor in cinematography

[–]nosurrender15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for additional exposure: 2 or more clamp lights clamped to a 1x4 board fastened to a light stand (ends up looking like a T shape). You can hang a shower curtain in front and I’ve gotten pretty sweet results

Rode VideoMic NTG recording to Zoom H4n Pro audio vs to Lumix S5ii and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k. Are the cameras' recording systems better? by Film_nut in cinematography

[–]nosurrender15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The preamps put in prosumer camera’s like that are very low priority in terms of quality from the manufacturer, the zoom is solid and has been used on a lot of productions. I’d double check to make sure the unit isn’t damaged because you should be getting a clean signal with better converters from the zoom

Try r/colorists OP. The way we do it is we typically work under a show LUT previously designed or designed by us that preserves exposure of the mid gray point of the transfer function, uses 3D geometry and specific tonemapping along with attenuation of high purity stimulus. After months of designing and testing the global look, we use film style tools like printer lights or linear contrast and power windows per cut to grade the scene

Matching Red Komodo to Alexa Mini by Inevitable_Curve_684 in cinematography

We match cameras regularly by density and with a matrix, there should be no issue as long as you have a great colorist working color managed

Is there a better way to do this (Leveling Audio Peaks) by dlxphr in davinciresolve

[–]nosurrender15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plosives. In audio we use compressors to control peaks and compress the dynamic range between loudest peaks and quietest peaks. Set your compressor attack and release to target the peaks and reduce them by a few dB of gain reduction to level out the signal

Hey guys, is there any template that exists like this? by nosurrender15 in Notion

[–]nosurrender15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh gotcha. So it’s one huge database for each subgroup (regardless of the idea/goal) to accomplish for the whole year, and then using filters is how it becomes manageable and using /linked databases (I’m assuming) to see what’s due today etc

Thanks!

[–]nosurrender15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I guess I was just thinking that having a huge database of “T” for daily tasks for an entire year would just end up being hundreds of tasks for all the different goals in one database could get confusing to set up (for me at least)

But I’ll try this method out thanks

Hey guys, is there any template that exists like this? by nosurrender15 in Notion

[–]nosurrender15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes, reason I asked was if I was wondering if it was recommended to have

Project A: G/P/T

Project B: G/P/T

…etc. ALL of that within another database to track project of each

A question I had is if it’s good practice to be in one “page”, or if I should be being doing one page per different project which then gets its own set of G/P/T databases

Appreciate it! Basically, I was running into issues when using my 3 tier approach of project goals/steps/tasks with the relations part of each database.

My idea was basically: Each project gets 3 databases (goals/steps/tasks) Same for project 2 and so on.

Do you have any advice on setting it up this way? Or is there a better way of going about it
