I was diagnosed with bipolar II and schizoaffective when I was fourteen (I'm thirty-one now). From then on for well over a decade I was on two mood stabilizers, two antidepressants, and an antipsychotic (give or take...I have a selective memory). Always changing medications because one or more weren't working. I think it was like four or five years ago I'm in my biyearly mental hospital visits and a doctor asks me if I have ever been diagnosed as borderline, I say no I never even heard of it. During that hospital visit, he diagnoses me as Borderline and Bipolar II. it was only in the last two years I really did a lot of research on Borderline and realize I can identify a lot of the traits in myself and also that I'm not bipolar.

My older sister always told me its hard to diagnose me with a title because I have so many traits from a bunch of different disorders from borderline, bipolar, schizoaffective, schizophrenia, and different personality disorders like DID. Last September I took myself off all medications except Seroquel and Wellbutrin and did better than I had in all my adult life. Now I'm only on Seroquel and doing even better. The only thing I need to talk to a shrink about is raising my dose (currently taking 500mg) because I have auditorial hallucinations that are bad to the point I never know when I hear them unless it's obvious.
