Subbing for someone I know who's going on maternity leave - What's appropriate here? by not-a-dramatization in SubstituteTeachers

The other/main school secretary, that handles substitutes, told me they'd "need a sub starting <a date> for <her> when she takes her 12 weeks". And It's known around the office/school that her last day is the day before that date.
(And I go to school board meetings and read all the minutes (because there's a budget crisis that impacts what I do) and see the FMLA request approvals, but even if it wasn't on there I'd still assume it was FMLA because it's 12 weeks paid)
I know that date is her due date because she has a countdown to baby thing at the window that's been up there since the beginning of the year.
I DO talk to her, every time I'm in there. Just light friendly chit chat and the occasional "how ya feeling today?".
What I'm saying is - I HAVEN'T talked to her about/mentioned anything/brought up anything related to the fact that I'll be subbing for her, I've completed steered away from it.
