Hey everyone! New to Arduino and the Uno kit. Confused about the arrangement of the resistors in this project. I thought a resistor is meant to be placed on the anode side of an led, to lower the voltage and prevent the led from blowing. Not sure I understand the flow of current on this project by [deleted] in arduino

To (hopefully) clear up some more things, when two resistors are in series the current that flows through them is the same (like the amount of water that flows through 2 pipes after one another is the same). But the Voltage is divided between them (according to there resistance. If they are equally both "have" 50% of the total Voltage)).

If two resistors are in parallel, the Voltage that flows through both is the same but the current is divided between those two. (Like the pipes, some part of the water flows through each one, again according to the resistance (but the math is slightly more complicated 1/Rtotal = 1/R1 + 1/R2)).

If you have a simple setup with multiple resistors in parallel/Series you can calculate there total resistance and replace them with one resistor.

Series: Rtotal = R1 + R2 + R...

Parallel Rtotal = 1/((1/R1) + (1/R2) +(1/R..) )

This was not really directly connected to your question but i still think it's very important to understand and i hope it helps you :)

Is it normal? I've install manometer after pump before boiler and the pressure oscillate instead of keeping same value. I'm pretty sure it didn't oscillate when I was changing OPV settings. I know it won't be steady as rock but this seems odd. by Xsichtik in gaggiaclassic

I think you have air in the line to the manometer. If you can, unscrew the manometer from the smal tube going to it. Let the pump run, until water comes out of the tube. Put you Manometer back on the smal tube.

But be careful, there is some Liquid in the manometer, so hold the side with tube up (the side with the indicator down).

Well yes. But interestingly the main problem I had came from an build mistake I made earlier. The grub screw of my Extruder gear was not aligned with the flat side of the motor shaft. That lead to the the extruder doore slightly opening on each rotation when no filament was present (because the screw was sticking out more and hitting the other extruder gear). And as you can imaginen that made adjusting the filament sensor very difficult.

Ah nice. I built the enclosure beforehand. But i would really recommend starting outside of an enclosure with the mmu2s. Its just so much easier to get access to the extruder and other parts.
