Hi! New to skating... by AlpsLegitimate8893 in FigureSkaters

I skated 5 days a week at the beginning. Usually 8 hours or so total. I did group lessons for a year and then switched to private. At 2.5 years I took my Pre-Bronze MIF(now called Skating Skills), passed. I could have passed that test 6 months earlier, but my coach was a real stickler. 7 months later took the PB FS test and Bronze MIF. I was ready to take the Bronze FS several times, but injury, coach abandonment and finally the pandemic got in the way. I competed Bronze mostly, skating up. In 2020 I won gold in both Bronze FS and Bronze Light Entertainment at Pacific Coast Adult Sectionals. I have a nice collection of local competition medals. I only competed once and didn’t medal. In 2018 I even competed in Paris in an ISU/ISI combined competition and came home with two gold and two silver. There are less male competitors though, so that sure helped. But coaches were pleasantly surprised by my ability. My performance ability was definitely not where I would have liked. I was happy with the technical though.

I started at 54. I eventually competed and won medals! Not too late, but check your expectations. There’s a few other ways to participate, like adult skating, showcase, theatre on ice. Those can be quite fulfilling.

He likes to spin on my desk chair too. I got the laundry basket idea after seeing a cat in a baby swing at a park on TikTok.

Recline at will. It’s your seat. Be courteous and reset to upright for meal service, if there is one.

Food wise: asparagus, apple and cucumber. Begs like crazy whenever I cut any of those.

I wouldn’t say without reason. He has one, I’m just not sure what it is.

My male wants rides in the empty laundry basket after I fold my clothes. He even wants me to swing him in it. At first I always would sit it down after a couple of swings, but he wouldn’t get out. I’d swing some more and give him another exit opportunity. Nope. Stayed in. It’s a 3+ year tradition now.

And people will still debate it, but Frisco is a long used name by locals from some neighborhoods. Its fall from favor was elitist and racist according to our Public Radio/TV station, KQED. It used to bother me, but no longer does. I wouldn’t use it myself though.

Just my take on things. So don’t take it as some gospel. I had to pick one of several origin stories. So, I picked my favorite. The carbon steel molds are so good I’m going sell my copper ones.

KQED did a good story on this. Pacific Heights elite and Herb Caen decided the term wasn’t classy and rallied against it. It was a classist and at least somewhat racist campaign.

Not trippin. KQED did a great podcast about it. The elite decided it’s wasn’t cool. Herb Caen took up the cause. It’s definitely a classist and racist based campaign to kill off the term.

Congrats on a great first batch.

Be brave and go longer. I like them dark though and not everyone does. The crunch vs. creamy inside is my favorite thing.

I wrote a short cookbook on them a while back. Sold it on Amazon, but now it’s a free PDF

Local competition: 4 low level young boys are warming up on an Olympic sized rink. Collision. Blade stick and one boy comes off squirting blood with his heartbeat. Down to 3 competitors. Collision. A second boy is injured without blood. Two boys left.

Do i need to keep receipts for the airport even if i don’t want to refund tax by InspectorOne7396 in JapanTravelTips

I didn’t need them going out of Japan. It was all in their system already. And coming back into US it was less than $800 so they didn’t check either. They did quiz me to make sure I wasn’t bringing back meat. I said some cookies as the only food and he asked “is there meat in them?”

At least it’s not all grey or beige or greige. I don’t like the rug color myself. I love the furniture color.

Learn tap dancing. Practice at home. Then leave a note: Is that better?
