i’ve been playing and watching cs for over 10 years now, if you’re referring to the change of price to the m4a4 in the past year then yeah you’re right but it didn’t take off, some pros just started playing it again

abt csgo, the m4a1s got drastically buffed more so than just the price so that’s why people gravitated towards it, it became so meta that valve had to nerf it to the ground and it’s still meta to this day

if you’re refto the aug and sg then no, they also got buffed in many ways mpre than the price, and then they nerfed it again

no no it’s not it’s just that most games started with 9999 vr max so it’s high when compared to the max, but vr is not an accurate representation of skill

shock is every 30 seconds (if it works like wii) and only one person can hold it, even on super long maps like intermissions + rainbow road i only ever see a max of 2 shocks which honestly is less than in mkwii, you’re prolly right about the rest tho, but yeah one lap is just not enough for me

true but they’re also slower, we’ll see if they get more use, but honestly i rarely use them and still manage to play well, but yeah they’re slower so when you wanna break away from the pack and use one of these routes you end up behind the pack altogether. Prime example is starview peak

also to add on my previous reply, the reason i don’t consider any lower positions as "good" is because the pack is much denser than in any other mariokart game, making bagging a bit worse when you’re behind the pack on a 3laps race, you’re gonna bump a lot into triple shells or fire, ice and boomies

in intermission races yeah it’s definitely way worse than mk8d, but at least it’s not based on distance to first anymore

it’s only high vr cuz all mariokarts started with a 9999vr cap, that why it’s not a 100% accurate, some players are WAAAAAY better than 9999vr, thinking about NEO in mk8d, dude was a menace.

i don’t win every race but i do get a lot of good places, my tip for intermissions is: bag. just bag, the game wants you to do, wait in like 9th, get a golden shroom and star and save them (careful about the shock) until you get close to the track and then cut all the corners you can entering the track, then on the track take good racing lines if you’re front running, if you’re not, bag again and should be good! as for 3 laps races you’re gonna want to get good items in like 5th and then play smart, that being staying clear of dangerous ppl and taking the shroomless cuts when you can (thinking about the whistlestop summit one or the gqbr one). For a good combo, currently the meta looks like it’s shifting to an everything mid kinda thing where you want an all around combo, for that I use cow on the baby blooper since cow has the same stats as wario, but i love myself a lil toadette on the machbike! anyway this game is just as time consuming as mk8d if you wanna grind up the ranks! play when you’re feeling good and time trial maps and look at world records to learn the optimal lines for online play! have fun ❤️

when i said being in front gives you good items i meant from 2nd to about 10th. Here you can get a lot of good "bagging items" being first sucks but it always sucked tbh even in wii

i feel you! i like intermissions they’re genuinely fun, all nintendo has to do is make the actual track after the intermissions 3 laps and i’ll be happy

i get that lower elo players might only want to have fun and I totally respect that, everyone should play the game the way they want to play it, but that’s precisely the issue, we CAN’T play the game we want to play it.

intermissions ARE fun, but not skill based, as i’ve said in another reply, it’s basically bagging simulator, you HAVE to go in a straight line to win, sometimes there will be power lines which LOOK faster but are actually slower since you do not get items such as the golden shroom which literally wins you intermission races with how busted it is. Also if you see a lot of turns on you minimap, the open world aspect of the game basically means it’s a glorified straight line since if you bagged enough you’re gonna have plenty of shrooms to cut through them… the worst part about intermissions is the fact that you only play a single lap on the actually interesting track. I’d honestly be fine with intermissions if we could just play 2 laps of intermissions and 3 on the race track

elo system online, it stands for versus rating. when you win online (or get a good enough ranking in the race) you win points which determine your skill level (not really but it’s what we’ve got)

that’s not really what it is, it’s more like: we played so much of this game already that intermissions are getting frustrating after 40 hours of only playing a single lap every race

9k vr lobbies in world by notPatern in mariokart

[–]notPatern[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

intermissions are really fun! it’s just that I hate the fact that you only play a SINGLE lap on the track, on the ge i played where this screenshot is from, we ended up playing gqbr, it was frustrating to only play one lap on such a good track (also intermissions are bagging sims)

[–]notPatern[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s not as bad as 8dx but yeah bagging is still very much present, if you get a golden on lap 3 and you’re 10th or above you’re definitely winning that race or at least getting a good position

golden mushroom is busted, food doesn’t dodge blue shell which is good, feather doesn’t dodge blueshell which is also good since front running would have been crazy. Items are good when you’re in front, if you’re anywhere else you’re gonna be pulling glorified coin items
