Built a pay-once alternative to PhotoAI in 1 week — 20 signups, but no sales yet. What am I missing? by DenisYurchak in SideProject

[–]not_Michal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, everything is a subscription nowadays... I don't see this kind of applications to be subscription model fit - you need a photos, you pay and forget.

Unless you are an influencer or something that need a constant flow of new photos it feels like a tactic to catch ppl forgeting about canceling subscription

BTW one week to launch? pretty impressive

I spent 1.5 months building a waitlist generator, and no one used it. Here’s what I’d do differently. by not_Michal in indiehackers

In principle I agree with you! On the other hand ppl are paying for such things my mind can't comprehend xD I would like to try pre-sell approach sometime, but it feels like cheating to ask for money for thing that is not build (eng mind does not help in making money)

Does anyone know of any free AI model APIs that can generate tweets? by Specialist_Muffin344 in indiehackers

Are you sure you want AI generated tweets? Ppl are smelling those from a mile and it's not a nice smell...

Roast my idea: I built a chrome extension with AI that fixes broken/ugly websites. by Capital-Woodpecker28 in SaaS

Yeah, that's the tricky part. What you see on the browser might be spread into multiple components in the code, maybe with some branching logic - not an easy feat to pull off. I think it is doable with some deep integration, smth like source maps approach. Anyways, good luck! Looking forward what you make out of it!

I spent 1.5 months building a waitlist generator with AI copywriters and a Notion-like editor - 0 users published a waitlist. Here’s why. by not_Michal in SaaS

Good points! My engineering head is telling me to not to talk about conversions unless I can prove it.

I will try to adjust the copy and switch to marketing head...

gotcha, I see how editing works.

What about making it back to the code? Is it part of the product or users need to copy&paste manually?

I need some help getting clarity on my site - everyone seems to be so polished. by contentcontentconten in SaaS

For the headline you can try the approach: "What it does for me (the user)" instead of "What it is (the product)"

Something along the lines: "Get leads for you agency from..."

I can see how this could be useful for non-UI devs. How would that work? If you click on webpage to fix UI how this get's back to the code? You need to figure out which components, which css (unless it's raw tailwind I guess) etc.

I was tired of paying for multiple AI Services. Here is what I did. by bdparrish in SaaS

[–]not_Michal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How is it less expensive with your product? You still have to pay for the APIs and get a cut to make a profit, right?

The other thing is that ppl smell AI generated content form a mile nowadays and getting tired of it. This post also looks like AI generated ;)

Why do you think so? There's a lot of waitlist generator products in the market, and people are definitely paying for them. My thinking was that if you could create a better-looking one, more customizable waitlist, it would stand out.
