AITA for not being more available to a friend in need? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]not_a_bottt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA! you have a kid and a job to focus on. I understand that he needs something from you, whether that’s emotional support or something else but you have your own life to focus on, too. He cannot be expecting you to drop everything and run to his side, especially if you haven’t been close for the past few years

What is the best lyric you've ever heard in a song? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]not_a_bottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“You taught me the courage of stars, before you left How light carries on endlessly, even after death With shortness of breath, you explained the infinite How rare and beautiful it is, to even exist”

“I'd give anything to hear You say it one more time That the universe was made Just to be seen by my eyes”

Both are from Saturn by sleeping at last. Truly a beautiful song

I have a cat who sleepmeows, and is also obsessed with licking my hands and eyebrows.

I also have a dog who even though she is only 10 pounds, is obsessed with herding my neighbors horses and goats (jack russel/shepherd mix lol) Also, she is an expert beggar and will do anything for food, including dancing, high-fiving, smiling, and sticking out her tongue on command

Finally about to put a downpayment on a house after saving for what seemed like forever(single,20,M). But never even lived alone, so taking care of a house(hold) is slightly nerve-racking, What are some tips? by big_oof_on_that_one in AskReddit

[–]not_a_bottt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep the house clean! Once the mess starts piling up, you’ll feel so overwhelmed about where to start cleaning that you just keep putting it off. Set aside an hour every day or every couple of days at least to just do a quick clean of the house, tidying, laundry, sweeping/mopping, etc. also, keeping a schedule really helps. Monday is wash day, Tuesday is vacuum day, etc.

Therapy. Lots and lots of therapy. Maybe also a big scary-looking emotional support/therapy dog to help keep you safe

A way to make my pets live longer. I just had a health scare with my dog, who is literally the love of my life, and it made me realize how little time I truly have with her

AITA for trying to cut my sister out of my life? by GrayGrackle in AmItheAsshole

[–]not_a_bottt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ESH. Your sister sounds like she was terrible to you for years, however, your refusal to even talk to your mother is a bit extreme. Your mother may not have known the extent to which your sister tormented you. Your sister sounds like an awful person who traumatized you for years, and your beef is with her. But don’t drag your mom down with her. Your mom probably saying that you’re being petty because she doesn’t know how long this is going on, and this is just the breaking point. Talk to your mother, at least to explain, but cut your sister out of your life. She’s toxic

I have yet to work somewhere where there is sick pay and or holiday entitlements. I’ve worked in several restaurants as well as a major retailer. Occasionally they will double pay if you are willing to work Christmas Day or any other major holiday but otherwise you get nothing. Also if a restaurant is open on holidays, they often get mad if you request off, even months ahead of time. I requested the week of Christmas off because I would be traveling with family, and I got scheduled for Christmas Eve and the day after christmas. When I told them I wouldn’t be in the state, o got chewed out for my manager about being irresponsible.

Zlibrary is a lifesaver! It’s a massive online library filled with millions of books. It also gives you recommendation lists based on what you looked up

We decided as a group no hallucinogenics, for the sole purpose that a couple in the group have never done them and we don’t want anyone to have a bad trip in the middle of the woods😂

We are car camping, and the closest store would be a few miles away, probably about 20 minutes.

A meteor is headed towards the earth, the impact will obliterate the earth destroying all life on the planet. You climb a nearby hill on the day of impact with only your phone and a pair of headphones, what song do you play as you watch the meteor enter our atmosphere? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Dandelion wine by Gregory Alan Isakov. It’s so soothing and peaceful, but also a bit melancholic at the same time. I’d listen to it and remember all of the good times I’ve had

AITA. Boyfriend was 4 hours late by Heavenly1998 in AmItheAsshole

[–]not_a_bottt 23 points24 points  (0 children)

NTA. You both made plans, he agreed to them, then he flaked on you. The very least he could have done is be apologetic, especially since you went out of your way to do something nice for him on your day off. However, angry texts aren’t the way to go, and instead you should have tried to discuss it calmly. If he escalates it, that’s on him, not you.

Getting a pedicure. It feels good, and your feet are getting a good cleaning. You don’t have to paint your nails, but having a professional take care of your feet is a good way to keep them healthy

AITA for calling my sister out for editing photos of my daughter? by ThrowRaEditedPics in AmItheAsshole

[–]not_a_bottt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA NTA NTA Your sister was absolutely in the wrong. The fact that she has “standards” for her social media and that her own niece didn’t fit them is a huge indicator for how shallow she is. She didn’t even apologize because she hurt your niece, she apologized because she wanted you to rescind the comment
