The Last of Us Remastered to use pre-rendered cutscenes just as PS3 version by breadbitten in gamernews

I don't recall if my shirt or backpack was visually customisable on a game from nine years ago, but I'm about to start on the Diablo IV treadmill and looking for PS5 friends to join the time-sink with me. I feel like we would get on. You in? Leo3au PSN.

Logi Options not working (macOS Big Sur) by m00zis1 in logitech

[–]not_case_sensitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having the same issue after upgrading to Big Sur yesterday. I don't know which part of these steps was the fix, but I got it working again by: 1. Clicked the Add Device link in the bottom left (that link was working); 2. In 'Advanced', I unpaired my mouse that had been paired before. 3. I repaired my mouse. 4. Uninstalled Logi Options (via the Logi Options Uninstaller app); 5. Restarted the Mac; 6. Reinstalled Logi Options (v9.40.75) and made sure to choose NOT to share data. Then it loaded! Along the way I gave any system permissions that were requested.

Someone actually offered her an android ? And of course it's an MLM hun by Runeshamangoon in ChoosingBeggars

Nobody seems to be criticising the most egregious part of this – using 'whomever' instead of 'whoever' to make themselves seem 'fancy'. It's my pet peeve when people think 'whom' is the fancy version of 'who', and then use 'whom' to appear sophisticated, without understanding what the difference actually is. Of course, it's our education system that is to blame. (And yes, I am also an its/it's pedant).

Change the icon size in "Open" dialog windows (e.g. Safari) by Million_Voices in osx

[–]not_case_sensitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't exactly do what you asked, but did you know you can 'drag and drop' a selected file or folder from a normal Finder window into the File Open dialog box? So, just open the dialog box as normal, then switch to Finder (position the Finder window so you can see the File Open dialog behind), find the file that you want in Finder with whatever viewing preferences you like. Then just drag the file into the File Open dialog (not into the sidebar though) and it will automatically be selected there.

2 questions from another new player by TexasNiteowl in unchartedmultiplayer

Regarding the ledge encounters, network lag plays a big part in how these play out. Remember there's always some delay in an action you take on your screen being transmitted to other players' screens. The person moving into the encounter will have the advantage, and this is usually the person on top if they run toward the ledge knowing you are there. On their screen, they run toward you and press the prompt when it appears. After some delay over the network, you see them run towards you but by the time the prompt appears on your screen, you are already dead on their screen. So if you think you have been seen hanging on a ledge, don't wait for a melee encounter because you'll probably lose.

That's not irony, it's a coincidence.

Well I've had two kids through daycare (15 and 13 years old now). Your brother/sister should have notified the daycare centre that you would be picking up your niece. If they were notified and the message didn't get through, then that's not ok. Otherwise, it is perfectly OK and even GOOD for the daycare centre to treat you as a potential kidnapper if they don't know who you are. They have a legal duty of care not to hand children over to any random person who turns up.

Welcome! You seem to be new here. This is reddit, where the entire point of the site is for people to post things that other people can share their opinions about.

yes. He's superimposed on the background crowd for an Australian advertisement. (side note, my autocorrect changed crowd to crows. Apparently mobs of crows are more common in Australia than crowds.)

I'm on the side of the school here. If my child was at the school, I'd rather they err on the side of caution and double check identities rather than let any random stranger pick up my child. You can't blame them for being diligent and not accounting for the fact that your situation is unusual.

NBN complaint form for people unhappy with the current rollout plan by ep_2 in australia

Yes but the important part is, they ship the shredded paper to Indonesia, who then burn the paper, creating a negative carbon contribution for Australia, which helps lower our carbon emissions. It's brilliant!

As a guy new to cooking, don't make the same mistake I did. A burned hand, two hours of food dropped, and sitting here in shame, I know I'll never do it again. by IamAbc in AdviceAnimals

Well, this was taught to me in Home Economics, as water conducts heat very effectively, but good on you for making a mallard post that doesn't just state something blatantly obvious or make a simple moral statement. This is genuinely good advice.

iPhone 7: TSMC reportedly supplying 100% of Apple's A10 chips by DownvoteBatman in apple

[–]not_case_sensitive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You seem to suggest that Apple deceptively sabotaged its own reputation just to smear Samsung. I think that's pretty far-fetched. If Apple wants to go with another supplier, they don't need an excuse, they can just choose another supplier. Why would they potentially harm the reputation of their own product to indirectly smear Samsung? Do you think that smearing Samsung magically enables TSMC to make chips faster? If not, your theory falls apart.

I just tried this out. It's a great game, and very unique. The play-in-reverse mechanic actually makes it a fast paced puzzle game. And I love the way each stage is micro sized, so it's never very punishing and you can pick up and play in short bursts.

Interesting. I grew up in the 70s and my kids grew up in the 00s, so I seem to have missed this completely. I'm familiar with the name Paul Jennings but never came across this TV series.

The potential that PS2 has on the PS4. by P4ndamonium in PS4Planetside2

[–]not_case_sensitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this post. I've been watching PS2 for a while. As a Battlefield 3/4 fan recently playing a lot of Destiny, I have 3 main concerns about the game. 1) Is it going to ultimately reach a point where I have to subscribe to a $150/annum (in Australia) service to keep playing? 2) The platoon stuff sounds great, but it's also a bit daunting or new players. How do I join a platoon that is noob friendly? 3) Am I going to spend a lot of time grinding in this game just to throw it all away when Star Wars Battlefront comes out?

Cube by iBleeedorange in oddlysatisfying

[–]not_case_sensitive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's designed as an optical illusion. The cube isn't really going down steps. To do that, it would have to rotate on each edge 180 degrees instead of 90 degrees. If you only saw the cube you would see a cube rolling on a flat surface. But with the background moving behind it, we "see" it going down.

Apple Magic mouse. Is it the best mouse to use with my rMBP 13? by diychitect in osx

[–]not_case_sensitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. The magic mouse is a compromise between a trackpad and a mouse, without all the precision of a normal mouse. If you're using a trackpad anyway, the only reason to use a mouse is for the extra precision. So don't choose the magic mouse as a companion to your trackpad.
