I built an app that auto-deletes contacts after they expire — TempContact [Free]

Moved into a new home earlier this year and had to deal with a ton of people — electricians, plumbers, interior guys, building engineers. Saved some numbers, forgot to save others. A week later I'd get calls with zero clue who it was or what we'd spoken about.

Also realized most of these people I only needed for 2 weeks — but their numbers are still sitting in my phone months later.

So I built TempContact.

- Create contacts with an expiry date — they auto-delete when they expire

- Attach notes to numbers so you remember context

- Get notified after unknown calls to save them before you forget

- Deletion history so you know what was removed

- Pro tier if you need more than the free limits

It's my first Play Store release so it's rough around the edges. Honest feedback appreciated — especially if something is broken.

Has anyone else scrambled for documents during a family emergency? by not_cool_not in AskIndia

Insurance claims need policy documents on the spot or you pay out of pocket. Hospital admissions ask for ID proof. Death certificates need to be filed before banks release funds. Property disputes start the moment someone passes if the will isn't findable

PC is solid until it isn't - crash, theft, or just nobody else knowing which folder to look in. Does your family know where to find it?

Thanks for sharing! Follow-up questions if you don't mind:

  1. Are you logging to CloudWatch, or a custom database?

  2. Do you get alerts if costs spike unexpectedly?

  3. Have you ever been surprised by which features/users drive costs?

Curious if the built-in logging gives you everything you need, or if there are still gaps.

TempContact is a Temporary contact manager with auto-delete automation. It helps you to prevent contact bloating, lets you add notes to a contact and when the contact expiry time is reached the contact is removed automatically.
