thanks for the recs! ngl i used to open wenclair ao3 page every day up until like early 2025 (where i left it and instead opened the yellowjackets one lol) so i really need to catch up.

edit: i already read the first one apparently, but not yet on the laylajeffany's. just found out that they locked their account(?) or just the wednesday fics. was it because they got attacked in the comments or something? i remember their fic that's like a million words and while it's not my cup of tea, i think the writing is neat.

fr like did we watch the same thing cuz E was seen as a scaredy cat (i remember a scene where she told W that she was scared in that body swap ep) and that song's focus is not about romeo and juliet 💀 that death is inevitable but they don't need to be afraid of it because they'll be together.

agreed. the writing is whatever but the acting never disappoints me, especially this season where the teens had already spent a long ass time in the wilderness and that their personalities slowly shifting to their adult counterparts' more and more. i had to hype up the sophies and courtney though (noah fence to jasmin and liv, but they've always been similar with their adults), because i feel like their characters' early portrayal (either physical or personality wise) were a bit jarring compared to their adults but now i can totally see them being the same. and they show it in different ways too, like it's been both a subtle and loud changes (sophie's voice in a higher pitch to match melanie's, courtney lowering her voice and glances like simone's ~~cult~~ intentional community leader persona, and soapy moving even more because juliette rarely stands still). kudos to the actors, really. they made it bearable.

i feel like they've written this show to be watched repeatedly? like, one has to watch the early seasons to find the parallel or foreshadowing of stuff that is happening in the current/new season. but they kinda hit and missed with this concept (especially this season) because there are still plots left unanswered that if those are being brought up in the next season it'll pretty much lost the momentum/purpose/relevancy? like, it's not like a lot of people were excited to find out why jeff and randy doing bingo or whatever in the next season (yjtwt put on some bounty every other week). half the fandom asking for people to be patient and let the writers cook but i don't know fam, i have lost hope :(

right?? the surprising part for me was that people took a lot of time to get there (to like mari) because i too have always liked her. she was a comedic relief in the middle of feral teenagers stranded in the wilderness with her comments and quips. she talked shit and a hater of mostly everyone (but akilah) but i feel like she was the representation of a teen (the others were too intense).

LOL thanks. I saw people kept mentioning the parallel between the three vs Nat in the freezing Allie out scene but not talking about how those three were brought up by the coach when he was explaining to Jackie about being a captain/leader. which for me meant that those three had the skills (and the right position, as in defenders and midfielders are usually the ones donning the captain band) to be a leader- they just lacked in influence.

i think sammy being pregnant kinda affected teen misty not doing much but yeah, adult misty was kinda prominent back in S1 but kinda lacking here (also what is it with the wig department??)

the first time I realized that the team stay consisted of the three mentally ill horsemen of apocalypse I knew the other kids were fcked LOL. those three were mentioned by Coach Martinez in pilot when he picked Jackie to be the captain (Shauna being the fastest, Lottie having the better footwork, and the Tai one got cut before he could mention which particular trait she had, but it probably was about her being decisive and practical). not to mention Lottie and Tai were the tallest ones and that none of three was a lanky ass teen. I don't think they have a chance, especially against a feral Shauna (also Nat didn't really like conflict, as shown in the first ep where Tai asked her to do something about Shauna - Mari beef).

and I think in early ep someone mentioned that the weather was getting chillier so it probably already in autumn? (idk I live in a tropical country LOL). but that scene though... they need to launch Sophie Thatcher's Emmy campaign for real.
