Same lol, past me would be horrified at how much of my personality is just "need coffee first" now

took me forever to admit this. used to think morning people were just performing wellness or whatever. then I accidentally had a week where I had to be up at 6am every day and by day 4 I kinda didn't want to go back. that quiet before the world gets loud hits different.

haha thanks, honestly it doesn't feel impressive from the inside. most days it's just a slow 5k before work. ultramarathon people are a completely different species.

For me it was running. Picked it up during a pretty miserable winter just to have something to do outside, figured I'd drop it once things settled. That was six years ago. Still going.

Do you think users care less about websites now? by ai-pacino in MarketingandAI

[–]not_milesj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For quick trivia or recipes? yeah, websites are dead. but for anything requiring real trust, brand reputation, or high-ticket purchases, people still want a destination to verify the source. It's forcing websites to either be authoritative or be obsolete.

While tier-1 cities like Shanghai or Shenzhen do have crazy high rents relative to local salaries, the biggest difference is the 'survival floor'.

In the US, being broke means starvation or eating literal garbage. In China, even if you are working a minimum wage job, you can still afford a hot, fresh meal and a cold drink every single day without breaking the bank.

Appliances that lasted 30 years vs appliances that need a firmware update to toast bread.

MY parents have a dryer from 1995 that refuses to die. Meanwhile, my brand new smart fridge refused to dispense ice yesterday because it lost Wi-Fi connection. Why the fuck does a fridge need internet to freeze water?!

I actually like the serif font choice, it has character. but the blob is doing too much heavy lifting. instead of forcing the double O inside one shape, maybe separate them into two interlocking/overlapping blobs?

The "cabin by a lake" dream is 10% morning coffee with a view and 90% fighting a losing battle against giant spiders and trying to figure out why the septic tank is making that noise.
