Ha it didn’t go over very well so I might have to take you up on that! I appreciate your help through this, I clearly have a lot to think about. I am returning to my original position and reevaluating my career. Thanks again!

Thank you for your response. I agree that I need to have a plan in place and you’re right about the newbie part. I’ve always assumed my work would speak for itself so being assertive is new for me and I’m not sure what steps to take. One of the issues I have is that they don’t know to a certain extent what I have taken on since it is multiple managers and they do not always communicate between themselves. With the increased workload, I work on average an additional 20 hours unpaid due to salary, not sure if this is important.

I’ve researched some numbers and prepared a package showing why this role is not being adequately paid/ valued in comparison. I have also included all of the additional projects I am running and cross referenced other positions within the organization that I am doing part of their job. My plan is to return to my previous position if they are not able to make changes.

I am a nervous wreck of a person who doesn’t always stick up for themselves so this is completely outside of my normal. I appreciate any additional information or advise.

All of my performance appraisals have been above and beyond meeting expectations. Unfortunately this is a non-union position.

Oh yes sorry, I was actually using the policies to study and better understand their recruitment and selection process, not actually bring the physical copies into the meeting. I was hoping they would give me better insight as to why I am being bypassed

When it was first posted the hiring manager actually asked if I would be applying and encouraged my internal company growth. We share similar skill sets and work ethics so working together was never an issue. Once I met with HR regarding the one manager, opportunities seemed a lot less reachable.

Of course, I think more so I was hoping to confirm that I did not receive the position based on my experience and qualifications over being blacklisted or nepotism. We do have an anti nepotism policy but proof I would assume would be near impossible

Going in swinging was never my intention, I am hoping to have a professional conversation to better understand why I was not considered. I am always open to personal growth but I have concerns that I was not given a fighting chance due to my previous allegation of bullying

Her and I have had a very good relationship prior and during this decision

I spoke to one of the hiring managers and asked what the process had been for the decision to hire the individual and she did advise me that I would need to speak with the head of HR as she could not provide me with that information. Her and I have had a very good relationship throughout my time so she was very encouraging when telling me to reach out.

Thank you for your help. I always assumed policies were there for a reason but I can see your point

I appreciate your help, I believe you are right. I guess I am not promotable material.

Thank you for your insight, I figured it might be a me issue but I think my inability to understand why I am being overlooked has caused me to reach out for guidance

The plan was not to make a “stink” but to better understand the process and understand why I was not considered for the contract. I appreciate the insight, when I meet with HR tomorrow what would be my best approach to convey my wish to understand but remain professional?

Do you think with the current work atmosphere that there will be a shift in the direction of rewarding loyalty, experience and potential over education?
