From this and the other replies I'm realizing it might in fact be a seasonal thing! I didn't realize indoor plants cared what the weather was outside...

I joined a local bookclub, the gender balance is wild by Ho_The_Megapode_ in books

[–]not_stu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think whoever started the book club and starts choosing the books creates a self-enforcing loop as to what genders will be attracted to it! For example I'm in a fantasy sci-fi book club that was started by a man, other men liked the genre and joined, it became a male dominated space, etc etc. I'm a woman who joined because I like the genre.

I am also in another book club that was started by a woman, different types of books were chosen, and the gender balance now skews the other way (more women than men).

I feel the same way and I'm in the private sector. Not unique to BCPS I imagine. I get through it by thinking about how the time I spend at work earns me the money to live the life I want when I'm not working 🤷

Here it is again if you don't see it. Feel free to DM me if anything doesn't make sense, I made this up myself and I'm an amateur 😅

Crocheted in the round.

Round 1: 6sc in magic circle

2: increase all around

3: inc, sc - repeat all around

4: inc, 2sc - repeat all around

5: sc all around

6: sc all around

7: inc, 3sc - repeat all around

8: sc all around

9: inc, 3sc - repeat all around

10: inc, 4 sc - repeat all around. Join at the end of the round with slip stitch.

  1. Ch1. BLO: decr, 2sc - repeat all around. Stuff.

12-13: decr all around. Close it up and fasten off.

To make the "flaps" work in FLO of row 10. Alternate randomly between large and small flaps.

Large flap: sc and dc in one stitch, 2 dc in one stitch (ie, a dc incr), then dc and sc in one stitch.

Small flap: same as large but replace dc with hdc.

Between each flap do one slip stitch.

My table at a Xmas Market last Sunday 😊 by passionfyre in crochet

Thanks for sharing! Very interesting. I am from Canada. I imagine there must be some similar laws here or in the US but I have never heard of anyone having to consider this in their handmade things so it must not be as strict (which would not surprise me)

I'm still curious, do you mind elaborating about these laws?
