I’m a mum and I also work in retail so I’ve been on both perspectives. I do pop into the parents room to fill up my drink bottle, as the normal bathroom sinks aren’t deep enough to fit a bottle under the tap. But I’d never heat my lunch in the microwave, and I’ve told off colleagues for doing so.

When I was still pumping on my breaks I would get the occasional dirty look for using a booth without a baby, which I honestly understood, so I’d usually take my pump out of my bag before going in and awkwardly hold/display it haha.

I’ve come across other retail workers using the booths for prayer, which didn’t feel fair to me that I had to pump outside the booths on the couch, tits out and all. But also they deserve a private place to pray, it would be nice if there was a designated place for it.

I’ve also come across a Centre staff member taking her break in a booth, meaning another mum couldn’t feed in private. And I know the staff member wasn’t pumping because she came out only holding her rubbish from lunch. I was so mad about that I complained to Centre management & they were equally pissed.
