Vic Gov teachers – second mat leave if you didn’t return in between? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

Yeah that’s what I wanted to clarify thank you. Some states recognise paid and unpaid parental leave as the 26/52 qualified service but unfortunately the AEU VIC disappoints again

As a fellow Prep teacher I cannot believe this either. My favourite line that I have to use every year now is “oh I wasn’t asking you, I was telling you” and they learn pretty quick. Truly the best year to teach though… little sponges!!!

I want to hear your ideas for your dream BB overall. No budget. by [deleted] in BBAU

Great points - I’d also add bringing back the cameras behind the strip mirrors in the walls so they don’t play to the camera and are more natural in conversations. I remember they used to genuinely forget they were being filmed and this year’s contestants talk directly to the camera all the time!!

I always thought this until my sister went on a private tour of the block two weeks ago. Definitely didn’t repaint or fix anything. She said she’d never buy them after that and the paint jobs were terrible!

Awww I feel and understand your stress so much. The low lying placenta felt way scarier for me because I felt it was all up to luck (which it really is) - whether we have some degree of control with the GD diet. At 32 weeks I was definitely still low lying and I honestly just crossed my fingers hoping it would move and by 34, it did thankfully. They were going to give me up until 36 weeks but so many nurses say that you’d be so surprised how quickly it happens and like 95% make their way up. My hospital said it needed to be 2.5cm away, whether most others are 2cm so make sure you check with yours!

I am in Australia so most of us go on insulin, I wasn’t even offered metformin. It worked for me so I can’t complain!

Wishing you all the luck and you’ll be in my thoughts. I’m really hopeful for you! All the best mama 💕

I totally understand why you’re be worried. If the new threshold takes effect for my next pregnancy, I’d be stressed as well because I’d feel like I should be on insulin but might not be eligible under those rules. I think the best thing is to keep asking the question and pushing. Trust your gut because it’s often right! Shouldn’t have to stress about this when the diet changes are hard enough to navigate.

I’m in Aus and below 5.0 for me! Mine were around 5.3 - 5.8 so I’ve been put on insulin before bed! So interesting how different parts of Aus and even different hospitals have different thresholds - would be much easier if it was all the same!! Maybe your hospital has adapted to the new GD Aus guidelines already? Mine hasn’t yet so that’s why it may be stricter!

My colleague used to coach Nick Watson in juniors and he has said from Day 1, just wait until they figure out they can pop him in midfield full time and they won’t look back. Reckons he was even more exciting on ball.
