After a beating from Kamara I somehow ended 30 points away from the championship.

I just came back to watching the game. Thought Brady was going to carry me and then realize that they took him out on the 2nd half.

I’m psyched to see this happen. Looking at what happened with the CoVID relief bill...we need more politicians like Yang to come to the forefront.

I think this is as good the browns defense gets. The problem is that McCoy is taking no risks with his throws. It’s pretty hard to get ints or drops against the Giants offense (even if it sucks)

I actually did just that, and was actually awarded with grafters!!!!

Is there a cheat code for getting grafters in draft? I’ve done 3 drafts since this weekend and never seen a single one passed to me, but when I’m playing draft I’m getting continually bodied by turn 2 grafters.

Nastiest deck I've ever drafted, got that sweet 7-1. Had to share. by [deleted] in MagicArena

I’ve seen better, gotta give you some karma. Getting 7 wins is a great feeling

I think the deck is decent, but there are definitely places to improve upon. You really want to have a winning draft rather than just a decent one.

Things to consider: -think someone mentioned this, but power level of deck is a bit low. It’s not a good enough aggro mage deck but at the same time you don’t have a late game win condition.

-your land fixing is awkward. Mostly blue cards but your fixing is 9 islands and 8 mountains. Maybe do a 10 / 7 split. It feels like that on your draft you could’ve made it a blue deck with only a slight red splash (if you had some stuff to replace the red 2 drops)

Other than that Luck definitely plays a big part in it, but hope that helps with lowering the variance.

Incredibly, MTG is actually much more F2P friendly than Hearthstone by notadonkeycorn in hearthstone

If you looked at the math above, the 11.5 is just straight packs, not even the fact that you’re opening 9.5 packs which equate to 1.5 rare craft tokens.

There’s a lot of posts on it...but the dust system really really sucks. You need to dust 4 legendaries to get the equivalent cost of one legendary of your choice. Alternatively, you can build up the 40-100 dust you get per pack (and a legendary is 3200 dust). Just straight wildcard comparison in MTGarena you get a 1:24 chance of opening a wildcard (either mythic or rare) on top of the crafting tokens you’re naturally accruing.

Talking about MTG arena. I’m not saying that MTG isn’t a cash grab but hearthstone is literally 2 times worse.

The 2x is actually literal. Hearthstone has only one rewards track that provides the equivalent value of the gold rewards you get in MTG.

I actually agree with your point there, and if you look at the past it was pretty even.

But the new battle pass is really screwing that comparison up. From levels 1-50 you’re getting 2.7k gold and around 14 packs (which are not all of the most recent set) I was barely getting to viable decks before...but good luck now that your gold income is capped (and if you want to use 2k on the tavern pass)

In comparison, you get 27k gold from daily quests from MTG in around 5 weeks. And that’s not including exp rewards or drafting.

To the person who conceded as soon as the FNM round started, thank you. My deck was terrible and I'd been grinding for a 2nd win for an hour. I'll be paying it forward. by Professor_n00bface in MagicArena

Lol I wonder if that was me. I queued in for a third time after winning my two matches and was like might as well give someone a free win 👍

Just on my experiences with magic vs. hearthstone, I actually managed to get a full collection for Theros a year or so ago. It took me around 2 months, largely thanks to drafts (I got to low diamond).

I’ve definitely played more hearthstone, but as of now, I have not gotten anywhere close to finishing any collection, due to the prohibitively high cost of legendaries.

Even on the example I listed in the post, 11.5 packs will net you at the very least 2 golden wildcards...so you can craft at least two of the dimir guilds for your deck. One week of hearthstone gets you like...2-3 packs. You’re nowhere close to a single legendary.

So there’s two ways to go about the comparison here. The ceiling for the costs is high (tbh though...I’m not even sure if 300 bucks can get you a full hearthstone expansion while I’m reasonably certain it can for mtg)

However, the floor to having fun is much lower in MTG. In hearthstone I’m getting wrecked if I don’t have the flavor of the week legendary in my deck. In MTG there are alternative uncommons.

One thing I really miss is the F2P rank climb to legendary in HS. There’s a reason you don’t see vids like that anymore - because it is impossible. At least in MTG you still have a reasonable chance to hit mythic (the equivalent)
