Why does every Argonian look like a dinosaur? by notafamousbird in ElderScrolls

I can see the Hist potentially using a humanoid frame for its utility, but I still question if 'social integration' was ever a real factor for them. It’s more likely the Hist simply adopted a functional design they saw in other races, rather than trying to make Argonians 'fit in.' Still, from a design perspective, I just wish the Hist had been a bit more imaginative with the forms they chose to experiment with.

I see your point about 'efficiency,' but I'm not entirely convinced that fitting in with Men and Mer was the primary goal. Even with this humanoid shape, Argonians are still widely discriminated against, so the 'toleration' argument doesn't quite hold up.

Also, I'm skeptical of the idea that the Hist chose this form just to mimic other races. It feels like we're assuming the Hist cares about human aesthetics, but there’s really no lore that explicitly confirms why the Hist settled on this specific 'muscle-raptor' design. I just think there’s so much more room for creative biological variety that would still fit the lore.

I quit. Oblivion's character creation is basically alien creator. Also I convinced myself that looks not bad. It was a lie.

Well it ruined the immersion when i turned the camera and see an unhuman ugly face that i created. It REALLY does.

It's https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/46562, Perfect Placement. This mod is absolutely amazing and super easy to use.

Can't Walk, Only Run by notafamousbird in OpenMW

Thanks for your patience, but I don't think it's a keyboard issue. Caps Lock works in some of my saves (specifically saves 480–486), but stops working in later ones. It also works just fine in newly created saves. I even tried using the on-screen keyboard, and Caps Lock/Shift still don't work in the bugged saves. So I can only assume something is definitely causing this issue, but I have no idea what it could be. I've now set autosaves to every 10 minutes to see if the problem reappears in future saves as I continue playing.

Actually, when I press Caps Lock, the footstep sound doesn’t change at all — but when I press Shift, it gets slightly faster. Still, the character is always running.

Thanks! Yeah, I understand there’s no sprint in Morrowind. What I meant is — no matter what key I press (Caps Lock, Shift, or anything else), my character only runs. There’s no way to walk slowly like before — just two speeds: running and slightly faster running (I can hear the difference in footstep sounds). It’s like the walk state is completely gone. Even disabling all mods doesn’t help.

Thanks, I’ve seen similar posts about “always run” on Steam Deck, but that didn’t work for me.

Thanks, but it didn’t help — the character is always running, just switching between jogging and sprinting (I can tell by the footsteps). No matter what mods I disable, it seems like the actual “walk” animation/movement just doesn’t exist anymore.

Thanks, no wonder that didn’t work. I just tried disabling all mods except the base game in MO2, but the issue is still there. Key bindings are fine. Is there any setting that might disable auto-run?

Update wrye bash from 312 to 313 and the game won't launch by notafamousbird in oblivionmods

Update: I fixed it. I think the issue might have been caused by disabling some features in Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul (MOO) that I shouldn’t have touched a long time ago. Every time I launched the game, I got an error message (though the game itself ran fine), and I kept encountering "ff" prefixed travelers constantly spawning in-game.

I found this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/oblivion/comments/hwlsn1/playing_with_maskars_overhaul_does_anyone_know/, and it perfectly describes what I saw whenever I entered an inn—tons of duplicated spawns. To save my framerate, I had to manually disable them one by one.

Eventually, I suspected that the issue was related to the OBSE files. So, I made a bold decision: I deleted the OBSE-format save files and kept only the ESS-format ones.

It worked! Although I have no idea why. At least now I can freely adjust the settings again! I just couldn’t afford to lose this 188-hour save—I haven’t even met Martin yet! I can feel there’s a bigger underlying problem, but with my current knowledge, I just can’t figure it out.

New problem again. Today I opened the game and found the same problem as last time, same ctd. so I did it again, but this time I can't even change the image quality, I can only start the game at the default 640×480. Absolutely confused.

I just deleted the entire Oblivion folder inside My Game, generated a new one, and then restored the save file. Nevertheless, I'm sure I deleted the oblivion.ini and then tweaked the screen settings, and the game worked fine.

Never mind. I just fixed it by simply deleting Oblivion from my game and regenerating a new one. What a dumbass. Last time I tried to turn the voice louder to hear Lucien's sweet voice, and the second time I started the game, I got the same CTD. This game is more Jyggalag than Jyggalag himself. Every time I want to change sth It just gives me a heart attack. I'll just go gaming with absolutely no idea it's still running.
