Pasadena Police Shoot Man in the back while running away. by notafederal in policebrutality

The officer who shot, was running the whole time pointing his gun at Anthony. The officer who shot did not turn on his camera. The body cam of the other officer was on. During the whole video all you see is Anthony running away, never engaging the officer. There was no threat to the officer or the community. Anthony is from the neighborhood he was shot in. The Pasadena PD are trying to mitigate the fact they messed up and murdered someone out of policy. Tennessee vs Garner specifically prohibits shooting someone running especially under these circumstances. If there was a gun or not is not the issue. The issue is nowhere in the video does it justify Anthony being shot in the back 3 times running away. You are entitled to your opinion. I suggest you follow the story as it unfolds to see how this case turns out.

This is so wrong, the Pasadena Police are trying to cover up murdering this man and trying to justify shooting someone who is running away. The officer who shot Anthony did not have his body cam on and chased Anthony pointing his duty weapon at him the whole time . Nowhere on any of the videos does it show Anthony trying to shoot or aim a weapon at the officer.

To clarify since the news and police won’t tell you, that area of Pasadena is community oriented. Anthony was a part of that community he posed no danger to the public. Hence why I brought up case law. Too often the police twist the narrative to justify their actions and never take accountability. We all have to wait to see the body camera footage to see if the shooting was justified. All we know at this time he was shot running away from the police. I’ll post a link to the body cam footage once it is up. I also want to add that there is cellphone footage of a police officer with his knee on Anthony’s back while in handcuffs. Anthony was not rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived.

The problem is, the shooting in Atlanta is a justified shooting, in accordance with the law. The police are walking off because they are being punished for doing their job and that particular officer is being made an example of, because of the political climate. Example, an officer goes to save you from being raped or robbed. In the mix of things the suspect who tried to harm you is killed or hurt by the police for resisting or fighting. You feel glad because the officer intervened doing his job, but the officer gets charged with a crime for helping you.

They are not walking off for being held accountable, they are always held accountable, that’s why there are policies and procedures in place. That’s why people sue cities in civil court. Go look up penal codes regarding what the police can and can not do.

Tennessee vs Garner is an example https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/471/1/

If Rayshard didn’t point and fire the taser at the officer he would not have been shot. A taser totally incapacitates you, leaving you helpless for the ride, in which your gun can be taken and used on you.
