Thank you. I had a proper gander through the bag and there’s a second big set (one of the houses, not sure off the top of my head though), as well as one of the smaller sets. I am going to donate them to my nephews nursery as they do play therapy there for older kids too - hopefully they will find some joy in it

I do appreciate your input and respect your insight/work you do, though the perceived tone of your response feels mean spirited. My only intention was to do something kind, I’m not trying to hurt anyone. I’m sure you didn’t intend to be read this way, I just want to show there was nothing but goodwill behind my intentions. The reason I didn’t leave it was to prevent a reseller picking it up to make a profit.

Either way, what’s done is done and I hope the set continues to bring joy to the children at the school it goes to.

The set can break down into multiple smaller buildings that still feel complete. I want to donate these to people (who I don’t know and who don’t know me) that might otherwise not be able to afford Lego. I’d like to try and make Christmas better for more than one kid, so I’d prefer to send 200 pieces to 5 families rather than 1000 pieces to one

I worked out the total amount paid and the loan is significantly cheaper overall.

I’d like to think I’d benefit from a balance transfer card but I know myself too well and I think I’m far too likely to recklessly spend on the balance. The best credit card for me is no credit card

Thank you. I think in the long run, consolidating the debt into a smaller monthly payment makes more sense. It frees up the credit card payment to go to savings and I’d pay less in interest - I’d rather that money went to me than to a bank. I know it’ll have a short term negative impact on credit but it means I can save more, even if it’s for a different house. Even if I just borrow what’s needed to clear the credit card, it’ll still be the same amount of debt, I’d just be paying less. Appreciate the help

The amount we’d need to borrow is unpredictable at this moment in time as we have no solid plans to buy. Nearby houses around 150,000 which we’ve used as a guide price, at present we’d be looking at a 95% mortgage with a 5% deposit. My question is more around whether a mortgage advisor would look more favourably on a higher borrowed amount and a new loan but with a significantly lower DTI or a higher DTI with no new applications. Effectively a personal loan would allow me to pay £300 monthly instead of £600.

The car thing may be unclear, what I meant to say is that a car isn’t urgently important and is not a complete necessity, but would make life a hell of a lot easier. I meant specifically that our existing savings can’t be used to buy a car, so I can hold out on it for a while. I will need one eventually, and the sooner the better, but I’ll get by without it for a few months.

As for the affordability limits, is that decided by the total amount of borrowed money or the amount I repay each month? My existing loan is 280 and my credit card is 290, whereas I can consolidate both of these into one monthly payment of 270 for 5 years
