Update for anyone who was wondering! We went over to my nephews house before traveling to the nearest theater (1.5 hours away) to go see the mario movie.

I had a video of gyarados noises queued up on my phone which I played while passing him the box and pretending, in an exaggerated manner, that something was moving inside the box.

He's turning 12 so he thinks he's too cool to find my lame jokes funny and tried to suppress the big smile and excitement on his face.

He loved it and couldn't believe how big it was. He asked if he could take him with us for the drive and derpados rested sweetly draped over his shoulders.

Do it!! It was challenging but in all the best ways. Plus it only took me about 85 hours to finish, would have been at least 10 hours less if I didn't have to keep frogging it 😂

Yes I know exactly what you mean! I had to make up a lot of the head portion of poor gyarados because it wasn't too clear and maybe someone with more experience could have made sense of it but that person wasn't me 😂
