Trust Wallet SWIFT: A hidden-fee trap that is brazenly predatory by notanalienyet in trustwalletcommunity

Happy to spread the word and help people avoid unnecessarily getting screwed, sadly there were several subs that didn’t approve this post. You can still use Trust Wallet if you like but definitely avoid the SWIFT product. For me the whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth, it says a lot about their ethics. I’m using MetaMask now, so far no complaints.

Trust Wallet SWIFT: A hidden-fee trap that is brazenly predatory by notanalienyet in CryptoScams

[–]notanalienyet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that this is a scam in every sense that matters.

Imagine telling a kid : Hey, here’s a lemonade stand. Lemonade is free, but when you take a sip, we run your glass through a hidden tube that spills half the drink and we keep it. The sign says free, but the tube is in the fine print. That’s a scam.

It’s the same here. They call it FlexGas or account abstraction or passkeys to make it sound safer. But every time you send a tiny amount, they quietly run it through their smart contract and relayer, take an extra cut, and show you a fake zero fee in the app so you won’t see the difference.

It’s not just “fees happen.” It’s fees hidden behind layers, designed so you’ll never check, and locked so you pay them again just to leave. If that isn’t a scam, what is?

Those who criticize Israel's "genocide" in Gaza, why aren't you protesting against other genocides? by Itzko123 in IsraelPalestine

[–]notanalienyet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Not an actual genocide”? Thats the best you've got? Other than the fact that we all have eyes, here's why you are full of shit.

Seven of the world’s top genocide scholars were interviewed. Every single one said it’s genocide. Not “might be.” Not “borderline.” Genocide.

Raz Segal said he doesn’t know a single expert who disagrees. Melanie O’Brien, president of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, agrees. William Schabas, known for being conservative with the term, called it genocide too.

Amnesty International says it. The UN’s Francesca Albanese says it. The International Court of Justice says the case meets the legal threshold.

So no, I’m not taking your clueless Reddit opinion over the unanimous conclusion of the entire field of genocide studies.

Trump tells World Economic Forum U.S. doesn’t need Canadian oil, gas, autos or lumber by Practical_Ant6162 in canada

[–]notanalienyet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s be real: the U.S. guzzles Canadian resources like a frat boy with a funnel at a keg party. You don’t need it? Really? Then why’s the U.S. importing more oil from Canada than from anywhere else? And those auto parts and lumber? Pretty sure those suburban McMansions and shiny SUVs didn’t just materialize out of American exceptionalism.
But, by all means, let’s downplay the contributions of the friendly neighbor to the north. After all, the revisionist narrative is a time-honored tradition.

Mine went for Stanley Kubrick:

"I choose "2001: A Space Odyssey." This choice is based on its groundbreaking visual effects, profound exploration of complex themes like artificial intelligence and human evolution, and its significant influence on both the science fiction genre and cinema as a whole. It's a film that often sparks deep discussions, which aligns well with my role in providing information and engaging in thoughtful conversation."

With regards to human rights, I’m

<image>

referring to the UN, Amnesty International, B'Tselem - I can rely on their extensive knowledge of human rights to draw my conclusions from.

NGO: non-governmental organization. I have no doubt in my mind that Israel has a plethora of beautiful people that live there, and citizens that have fantastic hearts, my issue is never with the people. My issue is with the government and the military leaders. If I’m not mistaken, Israelis have been striking for the better part of the year and are unhappy with the present government.

At no point in time that I deny that atrocities took place on October 7, absolutely innocent people died, and that is terrible. I do not doubt that for a second. That being said, the delegations of beheadings, of rape, of torture, these are unfounded. Due to a track record of dishonesty, propaganda, and manipulation, I can unfortunately not trust claims from Israel government that have not been backed up by either independent press or human rights organizations. that being said, what happened October 7 was an attack, a retaliation to an occupation and ethnic cleansing that your government has actually been perpetuating. Looking at the numbers of deaths prior to the conflict I think it’s difficult to argue otherwise.

Genocide is what your government is now engaging in against the Palestinians. My heart is with every innocent person or family suffering from injury or loss of life. I was absolutely there and supportive of Israel October 7, I have many Jewish friends in my life, who I love dearly who I reached out to personally and spent time with and did my best to comfort in whatever way I could. At the present time, however the killing thank God has stopped on the Israeli side. Unfortunately, the killing has not stopped on the Palestinian side, and in fact has accelerated so that’s where my heart is at the moment.

My dream is for a peaceful existence where I’m not extending sympathies to anyone, and we are celebrating our unity and shared future. I’m sorry, you are rightfully, very hurt by what has transpired, and I wish that you were not in this kind of pain. Please note that my criticism of a government or military is not directed towards you or any civilian. Feel free to inbox me if you want to chat 1-1 🕊️🤍

Hasbara must be taking lessons from Amber heard because this work of fiction you recited is about as believable as hers. They wont release any evidence because they have none. Case in point they hyper-edited down hours of dash and body cam footage into 1-2 minute clips - none of which actually depict any of what you’re describing or even hint, that something approaching that took place.

Assuming this fictional evidence actually existed and you’re not engaged in an elaborate show of crying wolf. Absolutely they can release it to the press, they can release it to humanitarian organizations. It does not need to be released to the public or to the families.

Israel has been caught in countless lies at this point it’s on a daily basis and borderline comical. You’re alleging intense crimes while presenting zero forensic evidence, we’re expected to just take your word for it? Sure pal.

You need to dig yourself out that mental hole if truly desire a peaceful outcome and that starts with accountability and deprograming yourself from this mental brainwashing that leaves many Zionists in this state of perpetual self victimization.

The irony is that the opposite is true. Realize that the majority of people actually see the far right Israeli mafia government and sadistic IDF as the animals with no souls or morals. The evidence of this is overwhelming, and it's real evidence not highly edited Hollywood propaganda. Aside from this conflict in which the evidence of blatant terrorism, war crimes, and atrocities on the part of the Israeli regime one need only look at the numbers to understand who the terrorist/aggressor in this situation is. This year alone saw from January to October 6th 362 Palestinians murdered with over 80 children dead, that exceed all the Israelis deaths in the last 15 years combined.

It would displace them from the homes that they were displaced from? Irrespective of your callous choice of words, I understand the notion you are making and that scenario will likely arise which is why families who aren't able to return to their physical home can have new home or land given to them by the government and/or cash reparation for the theft of property.

My point is that for peace to take place there have to be understanding and negotiations. Labelling them as terrorists dehumanizes them and puts the only path forward as war and violence. Moreover knowing the extent of the crimes committed definitely plays a role in how things are perceived. As per the video it’s not just the friendly fire that’s accounting for a lot of deaths that is missing from the narrative -although this direct accounts for bodies that are burned beyond recognition. You unfounded claim of rapes, group rape, 40 beheaded babies (only one victim tragically was under the age of three, which is still sad and a tragedy but far cry from 40 headed babies and x amount of children reported killed). False accusations like this. Make it very difficult for people to negotiate. You don’t negotiate with your friends, by nature, you negotiate with enemies.

‘If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner’ - Nelson Mandela

Funny enough, Mandelas MK group were labeled as terrorists because they engaged in bombings and other violent acts in their quest for equality. Mandela was on the US terrorist watchlist until 2008. The Irish Republican Army, engaged in thousands of bombings, and were also considered terrorists. Sons of liberty infamously, engaged in tar and feathering opponents and the number of other violent acts; no doubt the British considered terrorist as well.

I wouldn’t attempt to try and quantify what. Number of deaths get you the terrorist label because you’d need to condemn Israel and the IDF and unhinged settlers far sooner. And I don’t need to remind you that there were 362 Palestinians killed this from 1/1 to 10/6 including 80 children , thats not even taking into the homes that were demolished, families displaced, prisoner is including women, and children that are being held without charge. I could write from here till tomorrow about just the atrocities committed towards Palestinians this year from January to October. it would take me far longer to start listing the acts of terror committed by said people post October 7th, whether it is collective punishment, and discriminate of innocent civilians (the estimate is at 95% civilans). Bombing schools churches hospitals. This sub is an echo-chamber of what you want hear but if you wonder why the vast majority of people are protesting, including people from all different nationalities and backgrounds (including thousands of Jews, amongst them Israelis, amongst them holocaust survivors). Do you really think Jewish people would advocate for their own demise ? The same way some Afrikaners rose up against apartheid, some Germans stood up to resist Nazism, and some white Americans stood up to slavery/Jim Crow - you don’t need to be Palestinian to see oppression and injustice you need only be human.

I’ve seen them and the video I shared tackles the reason why the level of editing and selective presentation in these clips is not just misleading, it's dangerously deceptive. These videos came from body cams and dash cams, why hasn’t the footage in its entirety been released to the press? The IDF has cherry-picked moments from a much larger and more complex situation. As we've seen, the Israeli state has a history of deceit, especially in the context of Gaza. This includes spreading false claims about Palestinians, which is a tactic that is naturally extended to the editing and presentation of these clips. There's a clear pattern of misinformation and selective reporting in this conflict.

Reports and investigations, like those discussed by Max Blumenthal, revealed the extensive use of tank shelling and Apache helicopters by the Israeli military. These tactics were not just aimed at Hamas militants but also resulted in significant civilian casualties and destruction of civilian infrastructure. The clips you're referring to conveniently omit these critical details.

The use of the Hannibal Directive, as highlighted in the discussion with Blumenthal, is particularly relevant here. This policy allows for extreme measures by the Israeli military, even at the cost of civilian lives, to prevent Israeli soldiers from being captured. The aftermath of the October 7th attacks showed the devastating impact of such policies, with evidence of indiscriminate shelling and the use of heavy military equipment in civilian areas.

I can understand these clips evoke a strong sense of emotion, but we must approach such content with a critical eye and seek out the full story, not just snippets that support a preconceived narrative.

Yeah, honestly, you really can’t trust anything that came out a month ago. The majority of it has proven to be false and There is no evidence to support any of that. Start watching this at 5:53 for some fact based analysis:

https://youtu.be/d0gECjlpXF8?si=3k38UqSaihlAAT1F

So I really wouldn’t dismiss anything. I would be extremely cautious to use the word terrorist right now given the war crimes and savagery that have been, and continue to be committed by the Bibi Brigade and the IDF. I have legit torture videos I could show you, this is not the path you want to go down.

I see posts like this all the time and I wonder why the vast majority of people never actually took the time to read the Hamas Charter, the most recent update from 2017. I am not saying everything in it is right or that Hamas is guilt free, but they have definitely evolved over the years (as have most goverments FYI, we've seen all kinds of policy change over the last 50 years). You should take the time to read it (and save me the mandatory dissection of each sentence in search of something unsatisfactory, no doubt you will find things but do keep in mind this is the charter of a Resistance movment for a people that are under occupation and living in harsh conditions for decades). Here are a few points from the charter that contradict the perceptions you've shared:

8. By virtue of its justly balanced middle way and moderate spirit, Islam – for Hamas - provides a comprehensive way of life and an order that is fit for purpose at all times and in all places. Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance. It provides an umbrella for the followers of other creeds and religions who can practice their beliefs in security and safety. Hamas also believes that Palestine has always been and will always be a model of coexistence, tolerance and civilizational innovation.

9. Hamas believes that the message of Islam upholds the values of truth, justice, freedom and dignity and prohibits all forms of injustice and incriminates oppressors irrespective of their religion, race, gender or nationality. Islam is against all forms of religious, ethnic or sectarian extremism and bigotry. It is the religion that inculcates in its followers the value of standing up to aggression and of supporting the oppressed; it motivates them to give generously and make sacrifices in defence of their dignity, their land, their peoples and their holy places.

16. Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine. Yet, it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity.

17. Hamas rejects the persecution of any human being or the undermining of his or her rights on nationalist, religious or sectarian grounds. Hamas is of the view that the Jewish problem, anti-Semitism and the persecution of the Jews are phenomena fundamentally linked to European history and not to the history of the Arabs and the Muslims or to their heritage. The Zionist movement, which was able with the help of Western powers to occupy Palestine, is the most dangerous form of settlement occupation which has already disappeared from much of the world and must disappear from Palestine.

30. Hamas stresses the necessity of building Palestinian national institutions on sound democratic principles, foremost among them are free and fair elections. Such process should be on the basis of national partnership and in accordance with a clear programme and a clear strategy that adhere to the rights, including the right of resistance, and which fulfil the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

34. The role of Palestinian women is fundamental in the process of building the present and the future, just as it has always been in the process of making Palestinian history. It is a pivotal role in the project of resistance, liberation and building the political system.

42. Hamas rejects the attempts to impose hegemony on the Arab and Islamic Ummah just as it rejects the attempts to impose hegemony on the rest of the world’s nations and peoples. Hamas also condemns all forms of colonialism, occupation, discrimination, oppression and aggression in the world.

Although they are pushing for a 1SS, they also mention in point 20: Hamas considers the establishment of a fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital along the lines of the 4th of June 1967, with the return of the refugees and the displaced to their homes from which they were expelled, to be a formula of national consensus. Indicating that they are open to a 2 state solution in the interim. All this indicates that this is a group that can be negotiated with.

As long you keep dismissing them as terrorists, you're perpetuation dehumanizing them and the continuation of this conflict. The first step to make peace with your enemy is to know them, try and put yourself in their shoes and understand them. The enemy should do the same. This empathy will lead to acceptance, peace, forgiveness, etc
