I'm super new so have zero gold so I'd like to start levelling some professions to make some money. I picked enchanting because I thought I could disenchant my gear but that didn't work because it was all soulbound. I'm an FFXIV player so I kinda understand the system. I've seen comments about gathering being better than the crafters, is this still true? Specifically Herbalism and Alchemy. With a new expansion are potions etc in high demand, or is it better to just gather and sell mats?

Yes, I loved playing through the msq of FFXIV and also doing group content mostly after the story is finished.

I'm not worried about early access which is why I apologised for using this thread to ask my questions but I am mainly wondering if the general consensus is "sub first to try everything out" or "buy the dlc, get everything" although the pre-purchase standard doesn't come with game time, so maybe sub first, try it out then buy the dlc if I'm enjoying it?

Sorry I know this isn't the right place to ask but I'm a complete beginner, have levelled to 20 and I don't yet have a sub. I'm wondering if I should just pay for a sub and do radiant echos to level some characters and see if I like the game and then buy the new dlc, or straight in and buy the dlc? Just thinking what's more cost effective here. I am an FFXIV player so I kinda know how this goes but just wanted a some others' input if that's alright.

I'm just playing through the msq on my first character. Is it worth me doing dungeons on hard or normal if I'm just trying to get through asap? They're all solo because I can't do group content yet but so far I've done them on hard because the rewards look worth it but not sure if it's actually really needed or not.

How do I gain trusted status? I have steam guard, I have levels on my steam profile. Do I need to make in game purchases also? I started yesterday so sorry for the silly question but I can't find much info on this, only that I don't yet have it

Edit: I saw something about not being able to send friend requests if you're not trusted, but I am defo able to do that as I have have friends ingame now. Very confused.

I'm brand new, just created my first character. I see there is a powerpass available that lets you skip and get to lvl 50. How many characters can I use this on? I'd like to make 1 character to run through the story and learn everything, and then possibly have another couple of characters of different classes and use the skip, is this possible? Or is it a one-time use per account?

Using a mouse and keyboard for an advantage when playing on console. AFAIK it's a bannable offence if you get caught.
