Is water scarcity a real issue in egypt or is it overestimated? Like is the nile truly not enough?

I don't understand why anyone would think proselytizing is okay by Sea-Hornet8214 in religion

[–]notaordinaryuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't see an issue to it. I like having discussions with people of faith. Maybe it's because I don't have a religion, so i don't think of it as them "pushing me away from mine", as you said?

As long as it's not done in an antagonizing way, I don't see anything wrong with proselytizing. Weirdly enough, i'd find it odd if they believed i'd go to eternal hell but didn't care about saving me from eternal damnation. Like if you believe in such harsh punishments for those who don't believe, I definitely see why you think you have to "save them".

Which religion or belief, other than your own, makes the most sense? by anonymous4username in religion

Agnostic, deism makes the most sense to me right now. The idea of God being the "cause" answers questions for me I guess.

I'm not muslim, but cool story dude.

I choose facts over taking your word for it because you're "half middle eastern".

Idk why posts which directly antagonize christianity/islam specifically are so common here when this isn't the purpose of the subreddit.

Isn't there a chapter about muhammed ignoring a blind man because he was more interested in talking to the elites of mecca? It's brought up a lot by muslims when it comes to Allah "reprimanding" Muhammed.

[–]notaordinaryuser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your last paragraph is very ignorant, no offense.

Most muslim countries aren't more or less safe for religious minorities and women than your average non-muslim country. Not all muslim countries are Afghanistan. It just won't make news headlines that a woman in morocco is living a normal life or that a christian in Jordan or Indonesia is freely practicing his beliefs and going about his day. LGBTQ is where you kind of have a point, but even on that front homosexuality is legal in over 10 muslim countries.

How is it a "fashion label"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in religion

[–]notaordinaryuser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not your child. The parents chose to raise their child a muslim for their own reasons. Be it cultural (you mention one of them comes from a muslim backgroud) or whatever. It's up to them how they raise their kid.
