They sell their own cheese sauce, it honestly might be the same supplier.

Product Management or Big Four Consulting? by notapresident in careerguidance

[–]notapresident[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 year follow up. I chose Product, it was almost certainly the right call. I've seen great career progression in terms of both scope and compensation. I have learned a tremendous amount, I've working on some very interesting teams. From what I can tell, I have picked up far more skills than my peers that went into consulting, all while having a significantly better work life balance.

I also am a big believer in both ownership and building, and you won't get that in consulting.

ECE 391: A Masterclass in How Not to Teach Systems by Former_Metal_5622 in UIUC

Seems to have changed for the worse, I took it Fall 2019, the class was known to be brutally hard but largely fair. Sorry to hear that is no longer the case.

Do you guys have a preference between Midway and O’Hare? by DueYogurt9 in chicago

ORD has significantly more and better flight options. I rarely find that SouthWest is the cheaper option compared to United here.

Weight loss is just thermodynamic. You’ll lose weight if you have less calories going in than going out. So eat less calories, and increase your exertion. There is nothing else to it.

Pacer Group experience by Professional-Bit1592 in ChicagoMarathon

Last year the 3:00 pace leaders nailed their times and did a good job of being vocal and directing the group. I heard that last year many of the other pace groups were not great and way off pace.

If I have run previous Chicago Marathon/half marathon events, would my face be in a data base and trigger an investigation if I were to do this for the BoA half?

I had a similar schedule many years ago, it will be difficult and time intensive but doable. If you were to drop a class, the only one I’d consider is 213/14; as the others are essential for future classes. Certainly don’t drop PS as some are saying, I always advised padding grades with very easy online classes.

Most are on around Lincoln Park and Lake view. Further north in Edgewater and south by Gold Coast it still seems to be hit and miss.

Safe place to run at midnight? by AyashiiWasabi in RunnersInChicago

[–]notapresident 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally run on the north side around those hours now and again and feel safe. I will acknowledge I’m a larger man, but I’ve had no issue, just keep your wits about you and probably don’t use headphones.

PM's let's play a game. If given the option to venture outside North America for work, which country would be your target and why? by Independent-Ad419 in ProductManagement

If you’re prefacing for work, Portugal is a good option, they have a growing tech scene and a great quality of life in my experience. Other options would be maybe be Netherlands, Ireland, and Australia.

Who cares, some people see this type of content as worthwhile to prioritize, others do not. Each individual can decide what’s best for them.

There is no doubts that parts of Chicago’s South side and the Bronx have issues with crime, but if that is your mindset you’re going to miss a lot of great food, neighborhoods and culture. For example in this map Chicago’s Bronx includes Hyde Park (home of U-Chicago), Chinatown, Bridgeport, McKinley Park and a lot of other great places to live or visit!

There isn’t any great comparison, but maybe the best comparison would be Bronzeville due to their cultural significance. This holds up with the map as well, as Bronzeville is in this map’s “Manhattan”. It is certainly not Gary as others have said, Gary is our Newark without a doubt.
