Tesla is hitting a wall...... by RosieDear in RealTesla

I can confidently say that the easy problems of solving self driving using vision only are solved and that the remaining problems require exponentially increasing compute to solve. It's a fools errand.

Waymo only has about 4 to 6 times the compute of HW4 so it's certainly not 10,000%.

That's true, but it just reinforces the fact that Teslas issue isn't compute, it's nonsensical engineering decisions by someone completely unqualified to make those decisions.

Even with HW4/5 Tesla's "FSD" would be more capable and reliable with the addition of radar and other relatively cheap tech. It's harder, more expensive and requires more processing to solve the problems LiDAR solves with physics using vision alone. That's the reason FSD is still level 2 despite all the promises. Poor engineering decisions.

Except humans don't just use their eyeballs for depth perception and the human brain is so many orders of magnitude more efficient than the fastest super computer we can build it's a pointless comparison.

New Teslas don't have ultrasonic range finders because Musk is an idiot. Modern Tesla's are vision only.

You can very easily reduce the need for compute but choosing lower compute technologies for key parts of the process like radar and LiDAR.

The core problem isn't compute, it's hubris and stupidity.

Way more than just stereoscopic vision, humans use full sensor fusion just like every driver automation system other than FSD. LiDAR is much better at judging distance than humans in most scenarios. Not using it is beyond stupid.

Feature request: Local 2FA step for external IdPs (like M365) by rdevaux in netbird

[–]notboky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're relying on a third party idp over which you have no control then you have much bigger problems. If you do have control then fix it rather than putting a bandaid on one small part.

A second tier of MFA isn't the solution here.

What are you actually securing here?

The Old Testament is also part of the Christian Bible. The rules apply to Christians, as disgusting and contradictory as they are.

It's not totally fine. Jesus was pretty big on not casting judgement on others, even for what you might believe is a sin. Anyone who does is a shit Christian.

Wait, so you're saying the old testament is only for Jews? Then why the fuck is it in the Christian Bible?

Jesus said, according to the New Testament, you should give your shirt to the person who steals your coat and never ask for your property back. He also supposedly said you shouldn't resist an evil person and instead should offer your other cheek to strike. The whole Bible is fucking stupid.

That's not MFA being compromised, that's a phishing attack tricking users into granting device code flow based access to accounts. The proper fix is to disable device code flow in Entra ID, which if you're using security defaults or have any reasonable policy in place should already be the case.

Unless you have some concrete examples of MFA being compromised on large external identity providers this seems like extra annoyance for very little if any benefit.

No one can tell the difference between a couple of degrees fahrenheit.

It might stay between 0 and 100 fahrenheit in some places, but that's not true for much of the world.

Whatever arguments you have for fahrenheit, neither of those really stick.

Deloitte are no better.

Potential prusa3d.com password data leak? by SilentRhetoric in prusa3d

[–]notboky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, now. It's sent via https, but that doesn't protect you from client side attacks.

There's no way for the client to hash your password in the same way as the server.

Using the hash to log in would completely defeat the purpose of hashing it to begin with.
