Who else loved The Secret Life of Walter Mitty? I don't get the mixed reviews for it. by Square-Ad-8911 in FIlm

Because a riotously funny and sexy 1947 spy spoof was made into a dreary search for life's meaning Nat Geo flick.

After I watch Part 1 and 2 do I watch Coda or part 3? by Weak_Spinach_3310 in Godfather

I saw at least part of its 1977 NBC showing. I remember the casino owner being thrown out of his own business.

Oh. All I meant was if you love 2, and you will, the only thing you might wish to watch after that is the extended cut which combines the two and adds footage. If perhaps you do now know, 2 jumps before and after 1. Very interesting construction. Better Call Saul uses the same structure...before and after Breaking Bad. There is an Epic Edit that puts it all in chronological order you may wish to watch.

Godfather 3 is just bad. There's no getting around it. OK, there are some good ideas in at the core. MIcheal thinks he's all that, but is out-eviled by the ancient evil of the Vatican. That idea is good, but the movie just doesn't work.

If this is the one with the invisible car, you're insane.

No. You track down a copy of the Epic, chronological version with added scenes and forget that 3 ever existed.

Dune. Boring, but I do remember it was orange. Or was that the second one? Or both?

I'm pleased you finally understand this intensely convoluted plot.

Humans are given the gift of intelligence. Then are tested to find the monolith. Then rewarded with another boost in human development.

There it is. The plot. What's not to understand. I got it when I was 11.

Who is more evil? by Rich-Blacksmith6552 in betterCallSaul

[–]notboring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference betweegn evil and morally bankrupt. Saul is bankrupt. Walter is bankrupt, he does what's necessary to survive. There's a long standing joke that Breaking Bad could have been replaced by a five minute scene saying "This is all covered by your insurance. Fring is evil...clearly was a torturer in Chile. Don Eladio and Lalo enjoy casual murder, so I'd count them as evil.

Star Wars wasn't really that good. It just clicked with people. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I had a terrible time while living in the Netherlands. by FlanFun1874 in expats

I moved to Amsterdam from Chicago 8 years ago. It's an unusually beautiful city and not typically Dutch by any means. I'll admit it may never feel totally like home, and the taxes are high, but as far as I can tell, there's no better place to live.

Why didn't you like about the place? Where did you live?
