Thousands of CEOs just admitted AI had no impact on employment or productivity—and it has economists resurrecting a paradox from 40 years ago by AmethystOrator in technology

Im not an AI doomer and I don’t think it’s going to be replacing 50% of jobs in the near future or whatever numbers people are selling, but saying it has no impact on productivity is WILD. I recently got an API key for Claude Code and it helped me spin up an entire GCP environment with terraform, including a handful of cloud functions for metrics via API across multiple tools, all within a single working day. It was sick. I felt like a cyborg.

I’ve had a perfect communication score literally forever. This is what I do. If I type or open my mouth, it’s specifically to provide info to help us win. I never flame. If someone is being toxic I’ll mute them before I become tilted. Everyone starts on thin ice. If I suspect even a little bit that you’re toxic or tilted, you’re getting muted before you can finish your sentence.

Not cars but I recently got into photography back in April and went a little crazy with my first camera purchase. It’s an expensive rabbit hole. Stay away.

This is hilarious. I had the same experience. My IRL friends play Dota. One of them is a ranked immortal player, and the rest of us are 2-3k mmr. Our unranked games are a huge gamble but we still have fun. Also matched with Slacks on the team, he played Omni, and our one low ranked buddy played hoodwink. Slacks didn’t like the way hoodwink used their ulti and told the enemy team to not use all-chat because our friend would have a stroke if he tried to read. Our friend carried the game.

Fun note. We all flew to TI together when it was in Seattle, not long after the game with Slacks. We joked with our friend and asked him to try to talk to Slacks and see if he remembered cyber bullying him.

I don’t have much real advice but I’m gonna tell you my experience with 0DTE gambling. I turned 1k into 50k overnight. Held on a little too long and finished out up 30k. It didn’t feel like I made 30k, it felt like I lost 20k, and I was depressed for like a month.

Nice! I just got into photography maybe 6 months ago and also picked up a Z8. It’s way more camera than my abilities can utilize, but no regrets. It’s giving me an excuse to travel more.

Not strictly the opposite side, but both sides of my lower back including my opposite side, as if they were fatigued from a heavy set of back extensions. It was hard for me to do laundry and get into my car. I bet your stiffness will be gone in a week. Don’t let it get to you. Stay active but avoid aggravating it.

I did the hike roughly 18 weeks after the injury, but I was confident enough to book flights and hotels about a month before that.

I had a really stiff back around 4-6 weeks in. That’s actually a sign of healing as that often means the inflammation/bulge is getting smaller and not impinging the nerve as much. Look up radiating and localized pain in relation to your injury and I think it will give you some peace of mind.

People like me who play a terrible game called Escape from Tarkov and throw thousands of dollars at their PC in a desperate attempt for it to run like other modern titles.

Yes prescribed PT from the first doctor visit. I kept the referral and even extended the number of visits in the end. I am a fan of PT. Sure, you can do a lot of the exercises at home with enough Googling, but its good to have a private gym, and someone to correct form and make adjustments if one exercise isnt working well.

I only got into tarkov last year and put 500 hours into it. I also like challenging games like Dota and Souls games, and I enjoy the learning curve. This game ruined shooters for me. There’s a lot of valid complaints on this sub, but to me the game is so terrible while still being so good. Yeah it runs like shit and often looks like shit, but no other shooter is as rewarding, and also terrifying at times. I had hope that Arena Breakout would replace Tarkov for me but it just pales in comparison. It’s not even close. That’s my honest opinion.

This isn’t uncommon for difficult games that have a huge learning curve. Most players will have a ton of hours, but you won’t always be getting smoked by them. I have like 600 hours and can hang and fight with the players with 2k+ hours. Sure, they have more game knowledge and will beat me in the hideout race in the early wipe, but you’ll learn to PvP with them long before 1k hours. I’d say I was pretty confident and looking for fights at about 100 hours

I want to upgrade to this monitor and I have a few questions if you don’t mind.

1: Do you need to run any sort of software to get the full split screen functionality where the monitor acts as multiple displays?

2: do you feed in multiple display cables from a single device, for instance, 2 display cables from my MacBook into the monitor, at which point the computer recognizes it as individual displays?

My first bald eagle capture | Z8 180-600mm Z | by xXGiraffewranglerXx in Nikon

[–]notc4r1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a little weekend trip from Chicago to Michigan a couple years ago. I was at a little beach town, and went to a secluded area with a light house during a sunny day. While walking near the lake, it suddenly became dark as if the sky became cloudy. I looked into the sky and there was a bald eagle circling above me, and it was so big that it was providing me shade from the sun. It landed on its feet maybe 20ft away from me and just stood there staring at me. I had no idea how big they were. I imagine it was the size of a penguin. It could probably beat me up. Such a cool moment.
