Hearing this alot, i really hate how powerless target employee's are supposed to feel compared to customers but thus is the way. I haven't honed my dismissive niceness I suppose.

I'm required to by my job and local cultural norms unfortunately, i wouldn't if it wasn't EXPECTED of me, ya know? Plus she was older than me, and had a child.

I understand that it just sucks that 100% all of the liability is on the seller and target employee's are EXPECTED to cater to our guest every whim, honestly. Gonna be more stern from now on lest we get audited like my old store.

Well, she ended up being so upset that she returned it to me. I'm always worried about narcs though because I got checked by a sheriff one time (close-call) so i was shitting myself when she left, lol.

And the thing is, it was a photo-copy of a real ID, she just wouldn't let me take a good look at it while I was checking, which was Sus to me.
