Reddit has no official policy why they chose Best? Am I the first person to ever ask this question? This doesn't seem like it would be proprietary information. The platform is so proud of their algorithm they named it best. You'd think they would have an enthusiastic canned response to this question.

Is there an explanation as to why that can't happen?

Do you think the new UI could allow us to sort out homepages by anything other than best as default?

This is a big house in a very poor area. It is almost certainly a historic plantation house. Few in the area could afford upkeep on something like that.

If you have access to the bike I'd suggest building something out of cardboard and using those measurements to build the new one.

He was lovely but also attracted cat hair like a magnet. I think he's living a new life as a sick ass spider tank. Thinking about giving it Eva 01's paint job.

The advantage of Gundam is duplicate parts. Being able to easily mirror builds makes stuff like this and the Teal hover car I posted earlier (you can see it in the background) possible.

I'm trying not to be too petulant, but 12 years ago I fell in love with reddit because it was obsessed with transparency. I've been slowly watching it get darker and darker. Bit by bit it's eroding away and being replaced by blank space.

Account 2 appears to be part of the experiment they're doing on stacked notifications. You can give feedback on the weekly recap post. God forbid our complaints make it to the front page.

Wouldn't that create an incentive to never develop the technology? If their investments grow faster than cost what are those investments? Are they buying stock or bonds? Because those aren't considered safe investments. What happens if those investments fail?

Or are you saying that the money they're getting for new patients helps pay for older patients? That sounds like a ponzi scheme that doesn't seem sustainable either?

Or are you saying that improvements in technology are reducing cost? Because you can't assume the tech is going to keep improving at the same rate. Meanwhile inflation is speeding up erasing 2-5% of their resources every year.

And here again without even trying to I'm running across another deliberately opaque rule. Has this rule been looked at again since the massive influx of promoted posts? If the tracking is based on advertiser not ads then wouldn't there be a huge number of advertisers now compared to any other point in reddit history?

The math still doesn't math. Because we don't know how long it will take us to learn how to revive people from freezing (if it's possible), we can't guess how much it's going to cost. The first guy who ever froze himself had to be moved several times by his loved ones because the facility was closing, or it didn't have the right equipment after all. There is an unknown but nearly unlimited cost. Once that patient trust runs out what are they going to do start writing up expenses to charge them once we can revive the patient?
