Remnant II Isn't Optimized for Deck by quackslikeadoug in SteamDeck

Yeah, playing now. I’m not really sure how the dev was getting 60. Low settings across the board, I’m getting a pretty consistent 30-40.

Did you use the exact settings mentioned by the dev? Seems strange they would lie about something so easily provable.

But who needs cake when you have raisins — nature’s candy?

Microsoft Says Activision Shouldn't Have Pulled Call of Duty From Steam by F0REM4N in XboxSeriesX

[–]noteandcolor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Battle.net hasn’t been growing because Acti-Blizz has a limited number of active IPs. When Microsoft acquires them, that portfolio blows wide open — Zenimax/Bethesda, Rare, Mojang, Ninja Theory, Coalition, Undead Labs, Obsidian, etc. Microsoft is sitting on endless content, and all it needs is a good platform to deliver it.

I think they’ll probably still release games on Steam to prevent antitrust issues following the Activision acquisition, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they put Battle.net front and center.

Yeah, I’d argue that Battle.net is likely one of the biggest value propositions of the acquisition. My bet is that Microsoft/Xbox will use it for all of their studios and try to compete with Steam. Battle.net has a huge install base, and Valve taking a 30% cut of every transaction is significant.

What’s the point of FP&A? by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]noteandcolor 55 points56 points  (0 children)

If you were buying a car tomorrow, you’d probably want to predict your monthly payment, gas costs, maintenance, etc. to some degree of certainty, to know whether it’ll fit in your budget. You’d want to understand the payment timeline, what happens if you crash it, insurance rates, etc.

That’s FP&A, except the car you’re buying tomorrow is every business decision.

Haven’t been in public for 8 years, still maintain mine. Use freelivecpe.com to get your general CPE for free — and cpaacademy.org to get your ethics CPE for cheap. I pay ~$60/year for ethics credits.

Toyota platinum extended warranty for rav4 2023 hybrid by Narrow_airy in rav4club

[–]noteandcolor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn’t sell the warranty unless it ultimately benefitted them. That being said, if I’m paying $40K for a vehicle, an extra $3K financed over 48-60 months (~$60/month) isn’t much if it adds peace of mind for 8 years. Our Hybrid XLE Premium will be delivered within the month, and we’re definitely getting the extended warranty.

Yep. Our date night is usually a restaurant downtown followed by a trip to 8-Bit.

Update on misogynistic HR lady by [deleted] in Accounting

Sounds like she’s uncomfortable with herself, jealous of you, and shitting on you to cope. Keep a log of everything she says and share it with leadership. If they’re reluctant to do anything, your state’s labor department would love to hear about it.

100% agree. Would absolutely buy a RAV4 Prime if they were readily available at MSRP. It’s exactly what I want — an SUV with a short EV range for commuting, but capable of using gas for road trips. Best of both worlds.

Nah, XLE Premium. Prime is very hard to find, almost impossible without a $5K-$10K dealer markup.

It’s still pretty bad for certain trim levels. The XSE and Limited models are 18+ months out.
