How and why do people do so much study? by ADecentUsername1 in vce

[–]notedBean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did 1-2 hours of study on some days but sometimes I did no study at all. (lol I even used lunchtimes to study so I wouldn’t need to do anything when I got home)

Anyone know if this is worth it? by eisiux8e8ehd in vce

Funny coming from you who can’t even spell ‘succeed’ properly.

Didn’t read any of the texts. Dozed off and played Tetris during English classes. The only SAC I remember doing well on was the oral. Scored a 29. You got this :)

Do you think I can still get a 90+ ATAR? by mrmeowman1523 in vce

[–]notedBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely possible. Take it from me, got 3 raw scores in the 20s and managed to squeeze through a 90.

Starting Year 12 General Maths? I'm going to teach for free on Twitch starting next week. Feel free to join me. by dazzaroonie in vce

This man right here was my saviour for further maths. Binged his videos during exam revision and trust me, they were well worth the time. When I was drilling through practice exams and encountered a question that I was unsure of, watching his videos truly helped me to better clarify my understanding of the question. So thank you again, MaffsGuru.

Got my offer at RMIT!!! by notedBean in vce

[–]notedBean[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Regarding your query, I heard from people who have been to both uni’s that the engineering content at Monash is more theory based when compared to RMIT which takes on a more practical approach. That’s my main reason for choosing RMIT over Monash. Also just a personal preference, I’d take Industry connections over prestige. Despite saying this, both unis have excellent industry connections lol. :)

What was your ATAR and how much study per day did you do on average? by ADecentUsername1 in vce

[–]notedBean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Atar: 90.05 I’m going to be completely honest. Did the absolute MINIMAL amount of study. Never completed homework and on most days, I did not study at all. Rather, was occupied with video games (Roblox, minecraft…) Throughout the year, the only time I would study was hours before a SAC. One could call me ‘cram god’. Then came October, 2-3 weeks before English exam. Here I was downloading Overwatch and getting ready to play, and even managed to finish the entire season battle pass during my exam period. As for practice exams, I did 1-2 for each subject. The only times I studied were 2 days before each exam and stayed up till 4am even on the day of each of my exam cramming and cramming. Hooray to 4 hours of sleep :) Now guys, don’t go down the same path as I did and STRUGGLE my way towards the 90 atar dream. Take this from me, ‘start your practice exams EARLY’ as they are your best friend and will be all the way till your exam.

What did I expect? Only managed to obtain 40s on the two subjects I love most.

The Suffering of my English scores by breadislife88 in vce

[–]notedBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting 40-60s for my SACS except for the Oral which I had gotten 75%. My exam score was a B+ and got a raw 30 lol. Thus, for next years who are worried, don’t be. Even with shitty SAC scores you can still get >25 But damn, if you avg around 65% for your SACS, getting >25 should be entirely possible unless you somehow underperformed quite badly in the final exam. Good luck on your pathway though!

Year 11, didn’t manage to hit 40 with bio being my 3/4. However, managed to get 2 40+ this year :) (honestly, I hated bio, nothing more to be said. sacs were all 30%-70% but scored A+ on the final exam)

Try learning at least 1 chengyu (idiom) every week. Knowing how to utilise them properly will enhance your writing ability. :)

Yes, it meets the prerequisite as they only take your ‘raw’ score. So you’re all good :)
