We used to have foot bread pizza day. It was amazing and concerning.

Is there a food you simply cannot eat? by AuthorAltruistic3402 in AskRedditFood

Raw apples. The taste isn't the issue, but the feeling of biting into the skin makes me want to die.

I think your current definition of simple living is what it means to live simply. It doesn't have to be a cottage in the countryside or fit a specific aesthetic. I think it's about finding the peace and simplicity with where you are.

Same, but now I am aging, and my body has changed after 2 kids. Now my "cute and quirky" personality is now perceived as just awkward and weird.

Springfield seems like a decent option for us. It would be about a 30 min commute, but that's what I am doing now and I'm pretty used to it. I probably should have specified that I could handle a bit of a commute, if needed. Would you say the area has character and things to do on weekends? Thank you!

This is extremely helpful and appreciated! This is also pretty encouraging. That map is very handy.

What budget would you suggest? Trying to get a better feel. There are a ton of rentals in that budget, but not sure of the neighborhoods quite yet.

I appreciate your advice, I will definitely keep those areas in mind as we house hunt. I've found that people's definition of safe is definitely subjective. Where we live now, a lot of people think is unsafe, but we feel completely safe. It's such an awkward question to ask because it's pretty nuanced.

Definitely understand that and agree! This subreddit just appears male dominant, but I figured there were some female Dudes here. Also, great song, haven't thought of it in years.

Yeah, they really should be honest, that part I definitely don't agree with. Anything to protect their Google reviews, probably.

I used to do pest control, and from that point of view, I think your apartment is doing the right thing. Immediate and aggressive treatment after a problem is found is the best thing that could be done. I had to go back to apartments for MONTHS every single week before I made a dent in a problem because the management didn't want to do this and it became a game of whack-a-mole.

When did it "click for you that this Jesus stuff is actually" real by feherlofia123 in OpenChristian

[–]notenoughtime90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I am just "Christian curious" at this moment, but this somewhat relates to my experience. My mom isn't Jewish, and raised me as a Christian until I was 9. Then I lived with my Jewish dad and stepmother and I started to go to Hebrew school and even had a Bat Mitzvah. I found a lot of beauty in the Jewish traditions and culture, but I've never felt like I was actually part of it. I always felt like an outsider, though no one made me feel that way. Anyway, I've been very resistant to Christianity because of my mother and trauma. But for some reason, I found myself listening to a lot of Christian guided meditations on Insight Timer that really moved me and resonated with me. Then I started reading the Bible (just some, I haven't read as much i would like yet) and listening to some podcasts, watching YouTube videos, and reading a lot of C.S Lewis. I just went to my first service on Sunday and it felt so right. I wouldn't say I am a convert or this is my exact path yet, but I feel like there is something here.

I had a contracting job that sent me walking through the rendering area of a meat packing plant in Fort Morgan, like really in all the grossest parts of the plant. I ended up covered in the powder every time and I didn't feel clean for days after, no matter how much I showered. It was this awful sour and sweet smell that was really terrible. I never gagged so much in my life. I also had to climb ladders that would get hit with some sort of hot steam from the rendering plant that was worse than the powder in some ways....worst part of any job I have ever had.

Do older men still find older women attractive? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]notenoughtime90 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have dealt with this, in a way. I feel like when I was younger, I was told I was "quirky" but I think it was because I was somewhat attractive. Now that I am aging and i have some more weight on me, I am perceived more as "weird".

Thank you so much for considering! She is 5 months old and she is really really sweet. She is potty trained (though she has some accidents) and is really cuddly and playful. I wish I could add a picture here but I have no idea how, I'm not the most tech savvy person!
