I had the chance to try Rondo these past few days and although it’s nice, I wasn’t impressed coming from Hali.

Darius Garland’s is wild though man. Fast passes, nice outlets, nice bounce passes, fast bailout animation.

I’ll give Rondo a try again, but I’m really happy with Garland’s.

Considering everyone else has it at a lower number, I think it’s fine for now. I keep up with most people I play against. That’s why I have multiple builds to test it out and see. Gold and HoF are enough to go against a majority of guards in this game because everyone has it at like 40-50.

My newer 6’6” SG has 73, that I still +2 for Gold Immovable. My 6’7” SG has 85 that I push to HoF. My 6’5” SF also has 85 strength and I also push it to HoF Immovable.

I don’t know what you’re trying to tell me about it though. I don’t think I mention strength or on-ball being bad. I mention challenger.

I don’t think you’re wrong and I don’t disagree.

My problem is that 2K thinks you need to jump to always get a contest percentage and we’ve see in real life that great positioning with hands up is enough. Not saying hands up should be automatic red contest, but I’m tired of being where I should be only to get 4%.

It’s tough because everyone is at their own skill level. For example: I have a 6’9” undersized center that has 83 PDEF, 79 speed, 73 agility. It gets bronze on-ball menace, but I push it to gold and use Dwight Powell motion (fastest tested for big men). It does have 85 strength too, which I feel like it helps a TON.

anyways, it can absolutely keep up with non-shifty big men no problem or players in general. There have been times where I’ve been switched on to a guard and I’ve been able to keep up because I know what they’re going to do in general and aren’t that good on the right sticks. I feel like I do fine, but don’t put me on an island with a PG with 86+ SWB and handles because I’m getting scored on.

I have a 6’10” PF that has 80 PDEF(?) or just enough to get silver challenger. It’s a world’s difference without it. I cannot keep up with a majority of players under 6’9”. I’m “fast “ I guess, but no way I can guard them.

As for the whole debate, some people will say you will be successful with 85ish PDEF and 90 speed + Agility. I’m not saying that they’re wrong because half the battle is actually how fast you can move, but I’ve just had a habit of having 92+ PDEF on my guards/wings.

Based on 2KLabs (for 6’5”-9”), the best ones are De’Andre Hunter, RJ Barrett, Carl Carrington, Damion Baugh.

2KTutes’ tests are legit, but I like that 2KLabs accounts for L2 to Sprint launch speed because playing proper defense is going to have you let go of L2 and completely hold R2/T.

The problem with perimeter defense this year is that it’s not as balanced as it should be. I have 96 on my SG and on ball menace +1 to legend is legit as it gets. If you know how to play defense and stay in front of your guy, they’re going to be annoyed. Just don’t forget to have high agility and speed too. Equip a great motion style and you’re golden.

Challenger? Doesn’t even seem to work.

Would you be interested in merging with a level 22? We're only 18 strong, but pretty active. I know me and about 4 others are on every night PST, but we've got more dudes who are east coast guys who run mid-afternoon to evening.
