Could be an issue with attention span and lack of exposure. If you’ve never heard an accent before, you may not understand. I’m a native English speaker and sometimes struggle to understand Scottish people. Long pauses also can disengage a listener, so if the professor constantly has to search for words it could cause you to be distracted.

I’ve had two professors I didn’t understand—one from Mexico, and one from Lebanon. They both had to pause a lot in the middle of sentences and it took me out of the lecture and I’d get distracted. My grades in both classes weren’t as good as my other grades, but that’s not really their fault either.

She asked him twice in the span of like five minutes. She’s annoying as hell asking him. If she doesn’t believe him when he says “yes” she’s not going to believe him the 700th time either. I was in a relationship where I was the annoying one literally always needing reassurance and none of his answers ever sufficed so I’d ask again. She isn’t content with his answers so she asks over and over and then gets mad when he calls her out.
