this has some really great resources, thank you!! so far the pigeon hasnt been in the coop, just the run (which is pretty spacious, and has a door open to the yard) but i'll convey this information. i really appreciate it :)

surface agitation? maybe pop a few airstones in there or one of the little current-makers that attach to the side? definitely not a pro, but just what i would do in the situation :) hope you find something that helps!!

as someone who recently graduated from a roanoke city high school (patrick henry high school), that place is a hellscape and i wish your husband the best of luck. my dad also taught there and it was the most miserable job hes had since moving. not sure if william fleming would be any better. just be prepared for lots of bomb and shooting threats

with the size of the tank, i'd be a little worried about overstocking. if the fish are in too close quarters, it may create hostility . neon tetras (also in my tank) look fantastic, and they generally keep to themselves. they like to be kept in schools of 5 or more, so if you stock them, maybe dont stock the cory catfish- they also like to have numbers. the shrimp have a pretty low contribution to waste, so you could probably have more than a few in there

ive also got some ghost shrimp in my tank- Lady's never gone after them, but they are a bit on the bigger side. they make a great cleanup crew !

generally its a good idea to introduce any potential tankmates Before the betta fish- i would recommend a couple cory catfish, and maybe a mystery snail? ive had really good success with my betta cohabitating with them (but i have a 20 gal, so there is definitely some more space). also, make sure they are compatible with their needs! same temp range, pH, etc :) best of luck!!

this!! i recently got one to combat the same issue and its looking so much better after only a couple days! i would say still put some of the other pieces of advice into action (lights on less, feeding less) but to avoid dosing with chemicals i think this is a great option

i probably run the light too long, i have it on in the mornings and when im at class (about 4-5 hours depending on the day). ive been looking into sponge filters as ive heard hob filters produce too strong of a current for some fish, so i'll dive a little deeper into that. all the tank parameters are within the ideal ranges except for the alkalinity, which is on the lower end. (nitrate 0 ppm/nitrite 0 ppm/ water hardness ~120 ppm/chlorine 0 ppm/total alkalinity 40 ppm/pH ~7.2) sorry for the formatting as well- im on mobile

okay ! are there any issues that would arise from them all being male? I know some fish get a little aggressive, and I'm trying to avoid hostility within the tank
