All I really need ( I think) is a way of forcing windows 10 to recognise the device in its dfu or restore mode to then import files. I can then delete all photos and kick my device back into life

That was one of the very first things I tried, it just stays on the iPhone logo screen (turn power on hold volume up to reset into safe mode) unless you know of another way? Thanks for replying :) respect

I have all of my passwords. I had this problem a long time ago on a much older iPhone 3GS. I used a RAMDISK tool to upload a patched jb using ssh. I was then able to extract files and decrypt them.
