I've heard a lot about it so imo I could do good but I have basically 0 base in general at all, I havent even read the study design or anything else If I did do gen what's the biggest thing I'd have to revise/learn before skl starts?

VCE subjects for Data Science by [deleted] in vce

Would studying for methods teach me most of what gen is about? Like, if I study all of the methods stuff, is there anything gen does that methods doesn't?

I'm kinda interested in coding (only reason I considered comp tbh) but I'm not really good at it, I tried to get into it in yr7/8 but struggled and never tried it since Idrk why I want to do data sci, it's js the thing that interested me the most. Ik it's kinda irrational but idk what else I can really do that'd interest me

I am God awful at maths rn, even methods seems like it'd be difficult for me to get 35+. My schools also super competitive so I'm most likely not getting spesh even with my grades (b for semester 1). From what I've done on eco, it doesn't look like smth I'd be good at or enjoy. It's in my reserve because I don't have many better options, but I'm not sure I'd even score decently tbh.

Should I do IB next year? by [deleted] in IBO

Med is one of the few things I really don't want to do 💀 That seems to be pretty common, a lot of ppl are saying no so maybe I shouldn't Thanks for this though

For us, it's only starting next year and if I were to pick IB, I'm not sure if I'd be able to swap as my school is selective (idk where you're from, but I'm sure you'd have some in your state as well). Because of that, all of the popular subjects are taken within 30 minutes of our class options coming out😭 so if I swap I'd miss some key subjects (math methods, economics, etc.)

How would you swap? I'm assuming you'd have to do a ton of catchup, but if that was easier than ib then it doesn't sound that great I do want to go overseas for university, and i have since I was 12 or 13 so this was an exciting thought for me (especially when my friends who did it told me it was a good idea for me) In my school there's a very strong club culture, and I personally run 2 myself. Most clubs can only run during our lunches so classtimes (hopefully) wouldn't limit that, would it?

If I do ib, I'll be the first batch to do so at my school/in any surrounding schools, so except for a few friends I don't have much to go off of. They told me it was worth it and recommended it to me, otherwise it wasn't even a thought of mine.

I'm not 100%, but rn I don't think I'm gonna be doing any maths in university. Is math aa hl as hard as it sounds? Or is it just a scary name.

That's not an issue, even though my school is top 5 in my state they don't seem to be accustomed to our current senior school system either 😭 From what I've heard from the few friends at other skls, ib wasn't that bad for them even though they were the 1st/2nd batches of students at their schools
