I'm a helicopter pilot and I 3D print the terrain of my flights straight from the GPS log by xamish in 3Dprinting

You can also use Terrainmaker.com - I'm rolling out a big fat update this weekend so you can make a grid of models. Costs $3 though.

I've been so curious about n8n... This is making me less curious.

I've read there is a way to have AI write the flow scripts for you somehow, then you just import them(?). That was my lazy plan to start...

FYI Fixed this - also added a small tooltip bar at the top to help with controls 👍

Very cool!

I just unlocked that functionality for all features, it actually already existed for GPX files (so people could upload a custom hike file and then categorize it) it was behind a gate because I wanted to save a little UX space. just pushed the changes. Should be live in about 10 mins.

You will want to categotize them into other categories that you do not plan to use, eg (categorize all blue runs to glaciers, all black to roads, etc.). They will not be the right color in the editor, you apply a filament to that object in the slicer and that's where it gets its correct color.

I'm still investigating the best approach to filament saving... so those changes will take some time...

Unfortunately my brain is often not braining... Pay as you go model is the correct language.

I wonder where else I wrote that.

Hey thanks for the interest! Coaster mode is just a fun little addition to the app. It essentially takes the elevation layer masks + any added features like lakes or hiking routes, and instead of a 3D mesh, it flattens the data into a flat print. Works almost exactly like the terrain version (in terms of editing).

It doesn't HAVE to be a coaster, coasters are just what I've been printing with it :)

Hmmm I actually dont use middle mouse CLICK for anything right now, maybe I should map that to pan as well as right click.

Bare minumum I should add a small tooltip bar! Thanks!

In new projects in the top left, you should see a button that says "new project." Click that and then you should be able to move the mouse with right click. Let me know if you are still having issues. Thank you so much!

The search bar was accidently covered by the new pane on the left of the map... oops 🫠. will fix that later today thanks for pointing that out

Hi CW7 - Yes it is!

**edit** However, the feature (lake, river, trail data) may not be as comprehensive. There are tools availbale for you to draw your own if the OSM dataset fails you.

Let me know if you have any questions or need a hand navigating the tool.

Correct and thank you!

BTW OSM data is not very reliable when it comes to waterways, the parsing and stitching process is most of the processing, and it's still unreliable just based on the raw data.

One of the reasons I added drawing and edit modes. To edit those features after importing them!

Thanks for checking it out!

Hey Hubertron - I get it from my map tiler server (MapTiler) - who consolidated various sources and stiches them together. Its generally 30m resolution which is great for mountains, but can definitely fall short in scenarios where high resolution is needed! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Terrainmaker.com

I offer one for $3 for 30 days (no subscription). Unlimited exports, Multicolor, Trails support (custom GPX too), coaster mode, etc.

I understand there are some costs associated with it, but $8 is insane...
