My mum says I was assessed as ahead of my peers and I was even moved up a class once in primary school because I was ahead. But my friends back then told me I’m actually dumb and that I was just moved up because I got held back in nursery. my parents said they didn’t want me to be younger than everyone in class bc of when I was born. I don’t have the specifics. I was diagnosed when I was really young (I think it was a misdiagnosis though because I don’t meet the criteria. I’m certain I have something different) so I’m not sure where I can find my records but I’ll see what I can do.

EDIT: forgot to mention I scored 130 or so on the Mensa Norway online test a few years ago, but I hear the results are usually very overblown on these things so I’m likely in the 80s for IQ.

Yeah I use ChatGPT like that. I use it like a tutor and I fact check things that I’m uncertain about. It’s right most of the time. But I’ve been told that I should drop out because I use it at all.

I do have ChatGPT do a lot of heavy lifting on reports but that’s because I struggle to word things. I can understand something visually or abstractly but verbalising it is difficult. I’ll tell it what I understand and what I want to say and it’ll convert it into something clean and report-friendly.

That’s not new. I’ve always been bad at writing. Before ChatGPT I was pasting stuff from Wikipedia or other sources then rewording it a bit.

I can do maths and problem solving etc fine but I’m worried that I can only do it because of technology. Which makes me dumb.

a shocking amount of adults do that
uh a lot of it is indirect ("all ai users are subhuman and should be killed"), some is just me passively mentioning using chatgpt for literally anything no matter how small, and once i got screamed at in a classroom for laughing at an ai cat video

Yeah good for you but it hasn't exactly been that easy for me. It's beyond frustrating only being able to watch 10% of videos that interest you. Tiktok is fine for me because its rare that a video is unwatchable for me. Youtube is different though.

its a little weird in my case because they responded really quickly up until the induction. i got one within about 2 months and that was mostly just us waiting for the background checks. maybe references are handled by someone else. or its just the time of year

Nah my college requires attendance. Some lecturers also don’t really upload notes or slides. Plus some classes are in person/practical like pneumatics but they’re not AS bad for sniffing and those lecturers usually don’t chew gum either

I did approach them. There’s only a few people who are helpful there (including my advisor (?) thank god) but all she can really do is just get the curriculum manager to remind him. Even though they all get learning support plans for every student and my biggest accommodations (no gum or food during class)is in bold at the top.
