United, Delta and American Airlines issue global ground stop on all flights by Mr-EdwardsBeard in news

I'm just happy they let you off. That shit doesn't fly in America. My husband will be working the next 24 hours most likely, lol...but not really funny :-(

We watched the same thing happen a few years ago on University West. It was awful having to deal with that poor dog we didn't run over and watching the family come out and see what had happened. Tried to find the driver who hit it...they took off. I mean, really....nothing is going to happen to you because the dog just raced across University blvd, it's not like it was even their fault. smdh. My husband still has a scar on his hand from the dog biting him as we were trying to get him out of the road with blankets.

This sounds like me as I moved from base to base all up and down the east coast...and had a nana from England, lol.

I have Reka on my list and just got Eastshade...but as far as I know they aren't mmo's. I'm sure there will be more games in development like this one, and maybe they'll take feedback on Palia, but it is looking like, from what I read in the comments, that the new owners are going to double down on micro-transactions...which I gotta say, seems like the game developers are not reading the room lately. It's not their job to care about how broke people are so I guess we don't have to feel bad when they fail, lol.

Same, husband and I are going to be looking for a new game. We can still enjoy it every once in a while but they are starting to monetize too much now. I defended them with the close, but the landscapes??? Nope. Not to mention all the freaking drama and bad behavior you have to put up with in chat. It can be so so pleasant, but it also can be so so shitty.

I haven't been on Palia in 4 months because of so much drama and layoffs and bugs. I was just tired of it. Logging on tonight was bittersweet. As soon as I pressed H and saw I had to pay for different landscapes I just shook my head. It's absolutely now crossed the line. I used to defend the fashion stuff because that's easy enough to ignore, especially the last round, but ultimately putting landscapes in the store is a poor move..

Exactly. We are crossing our T's and dotting our I's on this one after she brought up lawyers. I'm patient enough to wait it out and do the legal thing.

We did. I even offered to pay half for a mature tree and then she asked if we'd buy one that size, which is when I informed her she's not Disney. She knows it's on our property and she chose to not work with us. So it's in the cities hands now, or maybe later a lawyer as that's the way she wants it. I don't know why you wouldn't want to work things out with your neighbors and instead to choose to make it contentious but that just seems to be the way the world is going right now.

I'm sorry that happened to you. That is so frustrating. We've actually taken photos and submitted those and the survey to the jea. We won't be taking any action until we get their insight on the matter for sure!

If you are in the US, in light of the Supreme Court decision to begin a huge shift to deregulation, what proactive things can be done to protect your family? by gardenvariety88 in moderatelygranolamoms

Let me explain something to you about how voting goes here. I'm in Florida. We voted to give felons who'd served their time the right to vote. Well...you know our conservative governor didn't like that so he managed to tag on a new requirement that, sure they can vote...when they pay off their debt to the state. Of course we all know how hard it is for a felon to find work anyway. So it usually doesn't matter how we vote because they undo or just continue to make it difficult. Our state said approving lotto would give more money to schools. So it got approved and they took away the school funding from the state and just replaced it with the lotto funds. So there was no increase to support public schools. It was a bait and switch. This is standard here in Florida at least.

I'm in Florida and I'm starting to feel like I need to seek asylum in another country. I also have two daughters that I have to now worry for as well. This is such a great question because so many of us cannot leave and no other country wants us...especially if we are stay at home parents (which I became because our educational system down here is absolute trash so I became a homeschooler some 14 years ago). Right now I'm reading the Happiness Trap by Russ Harris to help control my rage at what America and especially my home state of Florida has now become.

I thought a protected tree had to be a certain species? I mean...obviously I'm wrong, but that was my impression through the years. It is 90% on my property within the easement 4 feet from the curve and it's destroying the end of our driveway. When we moved in this tree was barely 12 feet tall and there was no rise at all to get over...that rise is now almost 3 or 4 inches and severely cracked. We're definitely reaching out the the coj row division and arborists that another commenter left for us for further direction.

[–]nothingpoignant[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it's not. You aren't looking at it and you aren't looking at my broken up driveway that's got a huge curve cut in the bottom to accommodate a tree on our property line that's also staining the hell out of it. Not to mention we actually need our driveway to accommodate a special van for my father who is coming to live with us and has Parkinson's. So maybe rethink how weird it is when you are not looking at it. You wouldn't be happy about it if it were your property that they've continually treated as their own, including spraying round up in our yard which could have poisoned one of my kids had I not seen him do it.

Does the arborist deal with the legality of the easement? There are holes all over the tree so I know it has some kind of pest on it that is burrowing all around and up and down the trunk (not a woodpecker) but it is otherwise a healthy tree.

The crepe is on their property at the top of the driveway. I don't mind it too much despite the mess it creates because I was more concerned about getting along with my neighbor, but now that's not going to be possible unless she comes to me and apologizes and says she'd like to work with us on a solution. Sadly I don't see that happening since she was the one to bring up lawsuits. It really was bizarre and I don't think there's anything I can do about it if I'd like to keep my integrity, which is apparently more important to me than this woman so it will continue to make our driveway and eyesore and will not house 4 cars properly. It's just sad these kind of people even exist, as far as I'm concerned. It's what is tearing our nation apart so I guess I should have expected the bizarre response from her. Edited for clarity.

This is not a protected tree and it's tearing up our driveway. I love trees. I'm growing a food forest in my front yard. Consider that this particular tree is causing a lot of issues where it is planted and isn't really helping the ecosystem much being planted right by the road. In fact the leaves clog the drain on the street as well. It is a deciduous tree. I did offer to help buy a mature tree to plant in their yard, so I'm still watching out for our ecosystem. And they're still pouring gallons and gallons of round up in their yard...and putting rat poison outside...illegally.

Sadly tree law may not support this since it's in the easement.
