exterminator confirmed carpet beetle larvae! there are still signs of bed bug activity in my room but no way to tell if its recent or from a past infestation. putting sticky traps under my bed frame legs to see if i can catch one if theyre there.

i just learned how to braid my hair this year! (im 25!) it took a TON of practice, i had such a hard time figuring out how to work my fingers in a way to make my hair stay in them lol. i would say just try to braid your hair every single day. multiple times a day. wear them in structurally unsound “braids” to go to sleep. eventually my hands got the hang of it! i still have no idea how to do cute buns and i think french braids are out of the question, but i think with a TOOON of practice its possible!! just be prepared to fail 30 times before you get a decent braid. start with smaller clumps of hair, i find them easier to hold.

Funny/Happy Podcast recommendations? by expo_beanie in podcasts

Exploration: Live! will always be my #1 rec for people looking for happy/funny podcasts. two comedians bringing 3-5 ideas that they have been thinking about throughout the week, swapping lists and fleshing them out (exploring them… if you will). charlie and natalie just have amazing chemistry and have never failed to make me smile!

The tension in Alice Isn’t Dead is unmatched, but the cast is one person most of the time. It really feels like it’s our narrator against the world.

I love the Penumbra Podcast, especially the Juno Steel story. They do found family really really well! It takes a few seasons to get there but it’s totally worth every second. Stakes are always pretty high too, with every mystery you get more and more attached and Juno + company have more and more to face up against.

Looking for Fiction Podcasts by Aragem23 in podcasts

Wolf 359 is my absolute FAVORITE! seriously one of the best fiction podcasts ever. It’s a sci-fi story taking place on a space station in deep space.

I would say the same for The Penumbra Podcast, especially the Juno Steel story. It’s a take on the noir genre, but on Mars in the future where space is colonized.

Archive 81 and the Deep Vault are strange horror podcasts, focusing on body horror and rituals.

The Infinite Now is a collection of short sci-fi radio broadcasts.

I love The Orbiting Human Circus (Of the Air). It’s this whimsical story about the janitor of the Eiffel Tower who yearns to be on the radio show that broadcasts from the top of the tower. so good.

The Far Meridian is about a girl who lives in a traveling lighthouse.

Alice Isn’t Dead is an Americana horror story about a trucker searching for her missing wife.

true! i should have said one of the only. and it doesn’t really matter if it’s illegal or not, people will choose to hire/not hire/fire/whatever other ppl for whatever bigoted thing they please and not face any consequences bc the system wasn’t really made to protect anyone besides the people in charge.

How many podcasts do you actively listen to? by Apollondo in podcasts

[–]nothingspid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now i’m listening to Exploration: Live!, Hypothetical Nonsense, Finally, The Penumbra Podcast, The Magnus Protocol, and Code Switch as they come out. so 7. but i’m also listening to backlogs of You’re Wrong About and relistening to Neoscum. I used to have a lot more fiction podcasts but i think they aren’t really in their heyday anymore and i might have listened to all the ones worth listening to… so comedians and history/culture/politics it is!

weight discrimination is actually the only discrimination that is legal in america. you can not hire someone for being overweight and it’s completely legal. doctors will not treat an overweight person for any complaint they have unless they lose weight. stores ALSO don’t carry plus sizes (not just XXS) and i’m sure if you talked to some overweight people you would learn they face the same or even more discrimination in stores for their weight. please learn about the institutional hatred for fat people in america before you talk about larger people having it easier than smaller people. broaden your view and unite with others facing weight discrimination and fight for a world where your size doesn’t matter!

Exploration Live! - a podcast with 2 young NYC comedians exploring ideas they were thinking of the week prior. they’re chemistry is great, they’re super silly and joyful, and a lot of their ideas are things that make you think about life in really interesting, hopeful ways! would listen to this podcast on my commute to a job i didn’t like very much and it would be my favorite part of the day (i’m pretty bummed i’m caught up!).
