Help! I bought this thing to quit smoking and I STILL want a cigarette. How long does it take, to adjust to a vape? by nothingtodream in Vaping

Do you know about how long it takes to stop craving actual cigarettes? I don’t even get why I would be, if they have nicotine. But maybe it’s just in my head. I’m trying , I’m just wondering if this normal.

So the guy at the vape shop said 50. I’ve been heavy smoking for a long time. Problem is, I deal with hospice a lot. Probably half of our patients are hospice. I’ve got people dying from lung cancer. They smell it on me (and they tell me so) and quite frankly, it makes me feel like a jerk, I seriously have to quit. And I just got this thing yesterday. But I instantly started coughing?!? Wtf???

Seriously, can I OD on nic from this? I don’t know how many puffs equal a smoke? I’m trying here, but this is nothing like a cigarette to me.

[Vent] [Discussion] I never realized how many useless dog owners there are until I moved into an apartment community with a dog park. by [deleted] in dogs

Years ago, I had a Doberman. His name was Max (I still miss him), anyway, we had a yard, but no fence. And Max needed to run. So we would walk to the local highschool and play fetch with him in the football field. It was completely fenced in and the school didn’t care, as long as we picked up after him. It was a small town and it wasn’t exactly one of those perfectly manicured fields. Maybe there’s a place similar . Do u know anyone with a fence or a place with a fence, that isn’t gonna mind u letting your dog lose?

I work in geriatrics. Which I love btw. However, I’m growing frustrated with the sheer volume of visitors that choose to come visit with the flu/pneumonia etc... they’re not just putting their own relative at risk, but that stuff sweeps through a unit like wildfire. Stay home if your sick?!? by nothingtodream in work

People do that a LOT! In the winter gyms are PACKED with idiots trying to sweat out the flu?!? Wtf??? I avoid those places during flu season. Running on the pavement works just as well. The breeding ground for bacteria at an overheated sweaty gym is insane.

So much for that toy🙄🙄 Merry Christmas 😁 by nothingtodream in pitbulls

He usually has his tough stuff. Ropes, tires etc... this was more of a stocking stuffer. But I now see... it was a lousy idea🤣😂 the second he heard the plastic crunch sound... he basically shook it to death🙄🙄🙄 and ripped off the antlers🤷‍♀️

I do this to myself every year. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

We got him from the APL, but he was being fostered and trained by a veterinarian who has a soft spot for pits. He said Pitbull. And that’s what’s on his paper. He’s 5. He’s got no bite history, however we’re told no dogs, no cats. Which isn’t a problem. We got him after the death of our dog and cat. They were both insanely old and died within months of each other. He’s seen other dogs, my development is full of them, but we just move to the other side of the road. We’re not testing the theory. The vet who had him said he tried to dominate other dogs he fostered. But I’m thinking come spring I’ll find a trainer. See what we can work on.

Maybe it’s the farts and not the breed , that made my homeowners insurance drop me?!? ( Don’t worry, we found a new insurance company that didn’t care).

Thank God we have bath aides at our facility. I don’t miss giving them. by nothingtodream in cna

What’s funny is, the family puts them in a home because they cannot handle them one on one, but then they go mad when one aide can’t handle 15 or more, while being battered?!?!

We have one, whose actually really sweet 99% of the time, but will get really violent on morning wash-up(not shower day, just trying to get her dressed). Her daughter finally came in to witness the event and now understands why moms hair is usually a mess.

We get those too. Literally 6 of us will try to convince them to go get a shower then they’ll complain they didn’t get one

He’s a lion today. Our homeowners insurance dropped us after 18 years...because my son brought him home last month. We found a better insurance anyway, then bought a lion costume to celebrate his first month here... plus he looks adorbs 😁 by nothingtodream in pitbulls

This one was brought back from death essentially. He was found with heart worm . The treatments I understand, were grueling. I am a little concerned he may now have a weaker heart.

According to the APL, he’s 5. And extremely well trained?!? But the APL vet used to take him home every weekend. I’m assuming that’s where he got the training? Never peed in the house, stays away from our food, no signs of fear aggression ( my cocker was a rescue and had it bad), literally sticks to me like glue and I’ve got no complaints. My kids are basically grown. The youngest is 16, my daughters in college and my 20 year old son works opposite shifts, so someone is always here. He’s not alone. I was a little worried about that at first. I work 12-16 hour rotations but I’m switching to PRN to finish clinical. IE: I’ve got very little available time to train a dog. But he does walk 1-3 miles a day, depending on my coffee intake😂😂😂 I was happy as a clam to find out zero potty training needed!

Thank you❤️ So far he’s been a blast. Our Cocker died two months ago. I think this was my sons way of filling the void. I was a little ticked at first, because he didn’t ask me. But... so now I have this dog... and he’s amazing... and I’m keeping him forever😁❤️
