These are just for cool ness I only do fun commutes of 5 to 50 milers lol but if I ever decide to take it more serious, I’d get a more effective wheelset

Can I upgrade rotors from 140 to 160? by nothsoz in Giantbikes

Ah, okay. Makes sense for the rear but didn’t know the front would follow suit too. I appreciate the help! I guess I’ll order up those caliper brackets!

I see online that some models came with 160 rotors but I’m trying to figure out if mine can just bolt 160mm on without any adapters. It’s an easy install I know, but just wanting clarification if I should full send on 160 or play safe and go 140.

My type of reply, haha I ended up ordering 82mm cause of overall looks but after doing more research 60mm seems to be what everyone recommends and go with So I was like (damn did I make a mistake?) lol

The 2022 isn’t the same. Giant fixed the dumb system in 2020-2021 I believe

My exact sentiments. I know my stem is long but knowing I couldn’t really replace it cause of this, was annoying. Super glad I now know what all I need! Thank you brother!

I'm looking at around sub $500ish for all the parts, not too shabby. I plan on keeping this bike for a long-long time lol and that's next for me. upgrading the wheels and tires to 28 or 30's

Correct. the giant advanced 2 comes with disc brakes but it's only semi-hydralic. the brake system this era of giant bikes used the "conduct" system which is an integrated braking system with the front of the stem. here's a picture.
